Hi quilt man, you do some fabulous work, love all the colors you use. I hand quilt everything I make. Used to have a grace frame/juki setup and sold it because I didn't enjoy that machine quilting process. I just sooo much enjoy sitting with my hoop and doing the handwork. However I am not a snob...I don't believe that hand quilting is the only way to do it. I just love the look of hand quilting! How long it takes depends on so many factors. How dense is the quilting, what kind of batting. Battings are different as to how far apart you can quilt it. What is the design? It can also be a long-term project while you are making other quilts. Just enjoy the process! Thanks for sharing your pictures.
Just found your page by way of comments on another page and I am totally impressed with your work. You do great!!!! I think you are a very wise man to take on what my DH calls girls' work. Your work is totally awesome.
Deryl, I'm glad you liked Michael's quilt- it took me a while to find a good manly one that would suit him. Since I'm making him wait to get it at Christmas when he is in town, I showed him a picture yesterday. He likes it, too and can't wait to claim it! I'm working on a new one now for another nephew. It's a bear's paw in darker tones. I hope it comes out as well as this one did!
Wow, your quilts are awesome! It does help to have something to do with your hands when you are out of work...........
Happy to hear you did find another job, but sorry it pays less. Seems that what you hear most people talk about these days. I guess we just have to be thankful we have jobs!!
Have a great day! And enjoy your quilting as often as you can!

Congratulations on the new job.....I too have been laid off and looking. Just not much out there. Fortunately, my husband's job seems secure and he has insurance so I have a little cushion while I look. I anticipate that when I find something it too will be for way less $$$$. Seems like that's the way it is. At least I have my stash......
Thanks for the tip! I actually have that magazine on my idea pile for a quilt for my african fabrics but, am trying to come up with a center block. Have been contemplating shadow applique animals or maybe printing some photos of zoo animals that we have taken on fabric?
someday it will come together and there is enough fabric for several quilts!!
I like what you did with the Serenity panel. I have the exact same one. I was wondering if you could give me the pattern you followed. I would like to do something similar. It's so pretty.Nice to meet you.
