I might be able to do APril 30th.  I'm not doing anything with my classes that weekend and it would be a nice break for me.  Maybe I could even take a personal day on Friday and then I wouldn't be rushing to get there…hhmmm.

:-D

Well, yes, we are freezing - thanks for asking.  But we only got a dusting of snow Thursday night and it was gone by Friday afternoon.  My poor daffodils thought they were going to be opening and they look like they're shivering.  Those poor buds will probably pop open at the first break in the cold…LOL.  And it was so cold at the dog park yesterday, but a friend was there with his two Siberian husky's and the 6 dogs all ran and played like old friends.  Guess the cold didn't bother them much.  :-)

Hope you enjoyed your paper piecing class.  I love foundation piecing now, but I hated it at first.  I took a class form a teacher who had us use a LOT of math to figure out how big the pieces should be before we sewed them to the paper.  But I've done enough now that I don't do that.  I do a lot of hand piecing on stamped muslin, so I've got a lot of shortcuts that I've never heard anyone else using and they work for me.

Thanks for having me. I really enjoyed myself. And I especially loved sitting with your daughter, Heidi! What a hoot - we laughed a lot at the same things. (I stayed and chatted with her as she finished packing up.)

My pets really missed me, so I let them all sleep on the bed with me one night before back to restricted sleeping privileges. I wasn't very happy with my pet sitter though - the birds all had empty food dishes. The canary was even sitting in his and his eyes looked terrible, his water was also full of feces. I could tell she hadn't done much with him and he wouldn't have made it through the night. Needless to say, I'm looking for a sitter I can trust. I have one student right now that I would love to use, but I have to wait until she graduates.

I hope we're able to get together again sometime this summer. Are you guys ever able to get away for a weekend to come down here? There is a great place in Prosser that is right next to a quilt shop and you can run a tab…LOL.

Hi Dorothy,
I just sent a message to Heidi. I will need to see if I can get my petsitter for the whole weekend before I say yes, but I"m interested. Not sure if I'll be able to get Friday off form work though, but would love to…LOL. I told Heidi that I would let her know by tomorrow evening.

I will either stay with my mother in Ritzville or I might be able to stay with a friend in Davenport.  I also have a friend in Spokane, near Garden Springs exit, so not far from Rearden that I could possibly stay with.  SO - lots of options.  I'm so excited to come spend a day or two with you friendly ladies.  :-D

Thank you Dorothy.  I don't think I could have stayed the whole time, but I would LOVE to join you for at least Saturday, and possibly Sunday.  I will bring hand sewing with me so you don't have to make room at a table for me.  Can I bring some chips and salsa, or perhaps some other food?

I think the little snippets of fabric would be beautiful in a Mason Jar, Dorothy--I have some empty quart ones and may put mine in there. Wouldn't have to worry about them being thrown away, would I? I used to drop my embroidery thread ends outside for the birds to use in their nests.

That's a good girl! I am so proud of you for turning to your sewing for comfort and therapy! That's exactly what I do to. It really does help to immerse yourself into a quilt project. There is just something about pretty fabrics that makes you feel good inside even when there is a huge aching hole there. Take good care and get lots of rest! xoxox Maryam

Oh dear Dorothy, I am so sorry to hear about your mom's passing. I too just lost my mom last month, but she was only 66 and had suffered from Alzheimers for some time. I hope you are alright and will take good care of yourself now. xoxox Thoughts and prayers and quilty hugs to you!

Dorothy, I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. No matter how old she was or how old you are it is still a hard thing to work around. My Mom had told us ( I am the middle of 11 children) so many times that she was tired and ready to go but we weren't ready to let go. I hope you will be alright and I do know that your Mom will be missed.

Thanks for your lovely comment. I loved meeting the Stash Bashers in person. I've already let Heidi know that when there's an announcement for the next one, that if there's an opening, I will be in there....LOL. I seemed to have lots in common with more of you that the group I used to belong to here in Kennewick.
I loved your picture on Heidi's site - nice quilt. :-D Do you know who took the group photo of us when I was visiting? I would love to see it, and then we can all join Hearts and Faces Connect group. :-)
