I am sorry to have taken so long to respond, but I am new to chat boards and don't always know how to respond to friendly members. I have been quilting for about three and a half years and really love making purses. I have some unfinished projects but find myself inspired by fabrics that are so pretty they are just calling out to me to make something, so I feel as if I will never get those other things completed. I am still hoping to find some of the Bookish fabric from CT that came out some time ago. I only need a half yard of three of the prints, but no one seems to have any for sale. I joined a book club when I retired and like to make the Vintage Book Bag pattern for each new member and that print was so adorable I wanted to use it-but no luck. Enjoy the heat wave, stay in the air conditioning and take care Carol.
Love looking at your project photos.. Rain/storming in Manitoba, opportunity to get some sewing done. Been sewing long time, but 1st time making shorts for myself. Be cutting a few more pairs, heat wave for nxt few weeks.
Thank you, Carol, I appreciate your contact. I have been so busy, I have not been on the site, nor have I got my Jan or Feb quilts started yet. I printed out the patterns and picked out the fabric and they are still sitting in my QTD (quilting to do) pile. LOL I will get to them this month, at some point. I will make sure to post them when finished. Have a great day, Jean from Oregon
Thanks. It is nice to be recognized as I fish my way around. This is all new to me. Just came back from a quilting retreat with 2 friends. We do this annually. It was very relaxing. What project are you working on?
Hi Carol, thanks for the shout out, I love making quilts and meeting all the wonderful people connected with quilting, it's like one big family. I'm very new to quilting but I'm loving it. Just finished my third quilt, it's the Glory pattern from Cozy quilt shop, it's a QOV and turned out pretty good, found the triangles weren't quite the right size so have to fix some of them so I have enough fabric to make my 1/4 " trim down for the border. I was a little disappointed in the directions, When I pay $9. for a pattern the directions should be a little better. I think Elenore Burns has spoiled me. She can make anyone understand a pattern and how it goes together. lol
I've been so busy, Embroidery club today, lol a bunch of us oldies having a awesome time. Just a really fun day.
Not sure how to get around here yet but will be sure to check out everything, when I get my quilts back from the long arm quilter I will post them only have two but they turned out really good.
HI Carol, thank you for the warm welcome. This is my first hexie quilt and I have been working on it since March. I am really excited to get it done and start something new. I am in Maui this week and just bought some beautiful Hawaiian fabric. I am going to another quilt shop on Saturday to get some patterns.
I have not had time to really visit the site since I signed up but hope to soon. Hope to see some other quilts that have been posted.
Thank you for the warm welcome. This is the first time I am responding on the site! I am really just discovering how fabulous Connecting Thread fabric collections are. This company takes the job of matching up my fabrics out of my hands, since I want to sew, not spend all my time looking for just the right fabric to complete a project.
