Hi Mary -- I live in Battle Creek and would certainly like to see that book. Could you, please, give me the title & maybe I could find it on Yahoo or ebay. I'm starting to quilt again & being able to finish all of the quilts I have started would be just great. I have at least 6 that have all the blocks done & have all of the fabric to complete them just don't have the get up & go to think about the hassle of putting them together & then trying to quilt them with just my Pfaff (regular arm). I love to free style quilt but it is so hard to push them through the small opening on my Pfaff. I have dreamed about learning how to "quilt as you go". Also, it would be so nice if us Michigan Quilters could meet & have a day of fellowship & of course quilting. Thanks so much for sending me a message. It makes my day when I get an email from our group. Thanks again. Rita.
Hi Mary - making friends online is fun. Where in Flint are you. I grew up in the Fenton area, but worked years ago at the Fair Stores before getting married and moving to Corunna. Have been retired for about two years and love it. Except for my husband's health. Have been making bags and small things for babies lately. New grandbaby any day now.
hi mary! guess what........my sister's name is mary beth! good name. i love your quilts also. your puppy is soooooo cute. i keep telling my dh that nora jean (our cat) needs a little dog to play with. she loves little kids and dogs but REALLY hates other cats. when we get settled up north in our house we'll see how she is and if she needs company. well, i have to punch in for work. only 6 more days to go and i'll be free to quilt, quilt, quilt! nancy

Mary, Thanks for the welcome! Your quilts are lovely. I have made many quilts but have no pics. I usually give my quilts away so I have none for myself. I hate snow and ice! It is pretty for about a minute then it can melt away. LOL I like warm (Not hot) and green.
hi, I know what you mean about quilting and joanns fabric, i did a quilted jacket and it satred wearing right away, especially the black. i havent used them since for quilting. i also go to fabric shop, may cost a little more but by the time you put all the work into it its worth it.friends Lloydine

How funny to hear familiar store names on this site. I am in the thumb region and go to Mary Maxim's once in a while. (Cannot believe the stores that are closing around this vicinity.) my son lives near you in Holly...hehe...and we used to go to Tadricks Tax Service since the seventies!! howz that! Have spent the last few days learning to move around this site, have made some big boo-boo's, but am coming along. Your quilts are stunning!Welcome back to Michigan.
Mary, I do shop at Mary Maxim's from time to time. They have cut way back on fabrick, tho'. I do most of my quilt shopping at the local quilt shops or at Joanne's. Next time you're in town let me know - we can meet for coffee or something.
Thank you for excepting me as a friend. Your dad would be in eastern Canada, I am from the wild wild west, just kidding ! Oh yes, from the west and in northern part of Alberta, where there is mostly oil, gas and wood industry.
Is there snow where you are now? Here, it is starting to melt a bit , but still lots of snow . Really love your quilts and the one with the wings, is that Micheal the Archangel ? Also, the vintage one you did with the black and white photos is gorgeous. I am just starting to learn quilting, but something I had a passion for awhile. Better go now, have an appointment, Nice chatting!Jessie
RE: French Roses Thanks so much for the tip, I wondered how 5 layers of fabric would work, now I see why you cut the back away. I'm going to try a small project first. I just fell in love with the softness of the pattern. Happy Quilting
Sorry took so long to get back, but been busy with school, cardiac rehab, and school, and trying to get quilt studio built, and ... did I say school? . Ok, enough being smarty pants, in answer to your question, I'm going to Alpena Community College in Alpena, Michigan. It's approximately 20 minutes North of Ossineke, where I live. I'm majoring in Fine/Liberal Arts and should be getting my associates in Fine arts in May. After being out of school 40 years, school has been a lot of hard work. I do have to strut a little, however. My son and I both managed to make the Dean's Honours List 2 semesters in a row. Made me jump up and do happy dance. Who says can't teach an old dog new tricks . Whoops, my kitty wasn't happy about the mention of the you, know what. Better quit before I write a book. I can never say anything in 25 words or less. Hope you have a fantastic day. May you and yours enjoy all the best life has to offer. - Terri at the Drake's Nest where, surprise, surprise, it's SNOWING!!
Hi, I still haven't figured this forum out yet. Oh, I wanted to ask, when you made the French rose quilt, did you cut the backs out like the pattern suggests? I've heard some do and some don't.
Oh, I told you wrong on the chicken pin cushion, I used 7 lights and 7 darks.
Yes I am doing 2 the ones with the blues and the ones in brown..the third set I sent to my granddaughter up in the panhandle she will be doing it with It just arrived to day...I gave her the sizes of the templates to save on her cutting time. I have posted my #1 block in two different ways I am thinking I might do the blue and pink one on point. Janet (jbugly) show in pictures will be starting tomorrow after school she is 16...My grandaughter Courtney also had planned to do it and still say she is but she is heavily involved in Band and may not find the time. She has some of her fabric together but that is as far as she has gone...she is a bit of a procrastinator..and admits it lol she is 15
