Hi Carmen, I am so sorry to hear about your mother. It is always so difficult, no matter how old you are. I also could not see my photos on my page until I clicked on the view all button at the bottom of the blank photo square. I have also posted it in the main Dear Jane Plus page. I actually did not like it -- until it was finished and on a bed. Now, luckily after all that work, I love it. I haven't done much else...a few charity small quilts and Christmas gifts for children. But I do plan to get going on another project as soon as I can clean up my work space, which is also my small guest bedroom. Good luck with your move and keep quilting! Anne
I am not certain you will remember me but I wanted to let you know that, at last, I finished my Dear Jane. I have often wondered if you went back to yours and how it is going. I found it very difficult to work on mine so many times, but am so glad that I completed it. I put it away often, which is why it took me from April 2009 until this summer to get it done. I have posted a photo on my page if you would like to see it!
Hi Carmen...just touching base with you. Hope everything is well. It is turning Fall here, so the trees are different colors and a chill in the air at nights. Good time to start a new quilt! your cathedral window will be gorgeous...lots of work!
I am also 48 years old. I live in Newton, Kansas. I have 2 grown daughters that go to college in Nebraska. They both want to be teachers. The eldest is very gifted in dance and art and the younger one is a sweet girl that wants to teach Home Economics. I was divorced in 2004 but remarried in 2005 to a wonderful man. We are so happy. We are currently in the process of trying to get his Nephew here with us for adoption. His daddy, my husband's brother was murdered before he was born. The family wants us to bring him here to give him a better life and more opportunities.
Be strong through the divorce dear....better times are coming to you! Your friends will help you!!! It's a big compliment you pay me about my blocks! I really love fabrics and playing with them in each block pattern. Your 4 kids must keepy you very busy! $$$ is a difficult thing no matter where we are but still we find a little for fabric right! What kind of fabrics do you like most? I would love to visit you, but things are really crazy in our lives right now. We went to submit documents a few weeks ago at the US Embassy for our nephew but had an issue to resolve and will need to go back again soon.
My husband has a really good job with Monsanto....an agriculture company so we are not struggling....Thanks God! I have been working with him too. It's harvest time right now so we are really busy. His family is in Pakistan so we go there every year for our vacation time. They are a wonderful family....so sweet and gentle and loving!
You are so sweet! Of course you are always welcome to come and share some time with me! I would really love it!!! I was looking at your lovely quilt photos too....marvelous! I really admire the applique as I have not learned that technique yet! Where in Spain are you? Do you ever come to USA? I have been to Spain but only through the airport lol
The challenge is out, lets see how many of us can join the wonderful new campaign called Stitching for Pink !!! Starts today until 30 October. Its gonna be so much fun with 10 projects to complete. Come on Embroiderers lets unite and join the fight against Breast Cancer !!!
I hope this finds you well...Haven't seen you on the blog for ages...Everyone is busy getting the holidays over with! Our celebration was wonderful with the kids and gdkids. But, am looking forward to heading to Orlando in a few weeks. My hubby gave me a computer program to design houses. Will be taking an online course to learn the program. This is so going to cost him money!!! Take care and 2010 blessings in the New Year! Pam
Oh Carmen, your quilt top is beautiful. You have made amazing progress in getting so many blocks done! I just love the colors you chose. Will you quilt it yourself? Thank you so very much for sharing your picture. Carol
