Just saying "hi".

Hi Dale - I made changes to our group pages. Simplified. Now, our Member Talk page will just be the page that has our group name on it which shows the members.
I removed some pages and combined some. I went way crazy with too many discussion areas I thought. This is what being laid off is doing to me...aahhhh!
Okay, so now it will be nicer I think.

Hi Dale - I posted a challenge (sounds slightly threatening, huh? ;) but really is harmless and voluntary) in the Paper-Cloth Group. Just thought I'd go ahead and think of something, just in case someone wanted to jump in. Don't ever think you have to, it is completely voluntary. I finally got it all thought through how it could go.....Have a nice weekend!

Hi! I'm crawling in bed, but glad to have you in Paper/Cloth Fusion. Talk to you soon, and I'll be back in AM to admire your quilts on your page! So glad you have lots of pets, especially cats!

Had to chuckle, my BFF is also Catherine. Whenever we're quilt shop hopping, those that know us have come to call us "the two Kathy's". Now when we have my mother with us, it's the three Kathy's.

Hi Dale! Am finally in Cold Lake for 6 days so will spend a bit of time on the computer catching up. Absolutely must stop procrastinating about getting the internet in at Rocky since I am planning to spend most of the winter months there so it would be nice to be able to "talk" to friends. Your Hot Chocolate blog was delightful and it sounds like you had a wonderful summer. What are you quilting now?
And hope your Monday is a happy one.

Hi Dale - you were very restrained, doubt that I would have been able to come out without spending more than that. It was great that you were able to meet Jamnut and may well do so again in the future, its great to meet fellow quilt enthusiasts. If Jamnut spent a lot more than you, I would have loved to have a peek in her bag! I was amazed at the number of quilt shops we found in Alaska and the variety of patterns and fabrics - needless to say I brought a sampling home!

Wouldn't it be great if the three of us could meet up on Saltspring Island, what a great name for a place!

Do you live in Ladysmith?--I don't recall where in BC but do remember the name--we lived in Vancouver for 13 years almost 30 years ago --fabulous scenery and really nice folks--great for art!! I was a spinner, weaver and dyer--not appropriate for Texas, so I switched to quilting--and still a little knitting. Greetings!!

It was great meeting you in Vancouver. We had a great time on the cruise and enjoyed spending time with Pat and Paul when we got to Junea, it just was not long enough at either meeting. Maybe we shall have to come back again? I have only just got over the jetlag, we had a horrendous journey home and every time I sat down in a comfortable chair, I fell asleep, no matter what time of day. Thankfully it seems to have passed now.

I did have a look at the other group and read your little piece there, I have down loaded the photos (a bit dark but the one with the 3 of us is not too bad) so I will go on there and put up the photo.

Haven't done any research on the Battisons yet, but will let you know when I do and if I come up with anything.

Hi Dale - Glad to hear that we can meet up. As I said, we are staying at the Four Seasons, W. George Street and either the Thursday or Friday for dinner would be great, whichever suits you best. Do you have any ideas on a good place to eat? Just let me know when, where and what time suits you best.
Would love to see some photos and the copy of Robbin Battisons family tree, wonder if there are any direct descendants? There are a lot of Battisons around this area and also quite a lot in Kent, so wonder where the American/Canadian Battisons are from.

Hi Dale - been a long time since I last heard from you and since the date of our departure for Vancouver is fast approaching thought I would drop you a line and see if you would still like to meet? Perhaps we could meet for dinner one evening. We leave next Wednesday which I think is the 16th and board the boat on Saturday so have 2 1/2 days to explore. We are staying at the Four Seasons hotel.
\Look forward to hearing from you.

Well, I don't see anything wrong with talking to a NICE man if the need is there. After some days with my hubby, I might try that. 1.Get a security system installed, 2.smoke up the house and 3.wait til the phone rings. Got it. I wonder how many nice men there are out there! ha ha

This is the egg casserole dish recipe from the breafkast quilt class I went to. This recipe feeds 16.
Brunch Strata
3 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
2 cups chopped zucchini
2 cups cubed cooked ham
1 1/2 cups chopped onions
1 1/2 cups chopped green/orange/red peppers
2 cloves garlic minced
2 pkgs 8 oz cream cheese softened
1/2 cup half n half
12 eggs
4 cups cubed day old bread
3 cups shredded cheddar
1 tsp salt & 1/2 tsp pepper

Saute vegetables in oil until tender. Drain, pat dry. Cream the cream cheese and half n half until smooth. Beat the eggs. Stir in bread, salt & pepper and vegetable mixture. Pour into 2 casserole dishes, bake uncovered at 350 for 35 to 40 minutes.

I am sure if your are renovating an entire house, you have your own share of stories to tell. One room at a time is about all I can handle. A year and a half ago we had the kitchen gutted down to the bare walls and floor and completely remodeled. That took a couple of months and was a nightmare at the time. But, we survived and now it is beautiful. Are you putting in a new fireplace or leaving it out entirely? I wish I had one, not necessarily to use because it would bother my asthma. But, they are lovely to decorate around!!!

Dale, Yes, the paint on the carpet story will be one I am sure my daughters will all enjoy telling for years to come. The sooner I pick out new carpet and have it installed, the happier I will be though. Then the new paint job will look much better!

OMG Dale, 40.9 is excruciating anywhere but with no breeze it would be hide in the freezer time for me! I knew it was hot and dry on the Island as our oldest lives in Victoria but that is an unbelievably HOT temp. We are at 16 with clouds threatening rain but last Saturday was 36C and that was too hot.
If it stays like this maybe you should switch your body clock around and try to reverse your sleep cycle for a bit. Even yard work would be easier in the middle of the night!!!
You take care and I will try to send some cooling breezes your way and maybe some showers in the wee hours of the morning. Take care...Susan

Oh Dale, just checked out your blog and have to say, I am still laughing and crying at your "shopping" rant!! How true it is and believe me I empathize with you! I am only 5' tall, have auburn hair so burn a lovely cherry red, usually prefer to pay cash and walk out of any store where I cannot hear myself think due to music volume (it hurts!!!). Seldom go clothes shopping any more...figure when I have almost nothing left to wear except my "hippie" long skirts and T's I might venture out again and try to find a few acceptable items. Or maybe I should just start sewing all my clothes again!!! Hope your weather is improving and you are getting some rain.
