Hello! Good to hear from you, too, Ann. I've not been making much progress on the quilting front, so not much news there. I need to get busy again. Lots of projects in the wings and a few that need finishing, just no motivation at the moment to tackle them.
I did find a great buy yesterday in the form of a 1927 Singer 99-13 in a bent wood case. I was thrilled! It is in great working condition and came with a box full of feet attachments. Looks like it was well taken care of and according to the owner and as evidenced by a new belt and cords, had been recently serviced.
Otherwise, family is well. Baby grandson in 8 months old and a pure delight. I keep busy with housework and helping my husband with ranch work.
Thank you Ann for the compliment on my sewing room. It was my formal living room but I took it for my sewing room. I have a den for watching t.v. so didn't use this room except when company came. It's cozy and convient.
You have a couple of pictures of the purse with something on top, is that a wallet? Your purses are beautiful. I have made a couple of the same pattern and have been asked to make one for someone who wants a wallet and a keychain holder too.
Thank you for the friend invite. I think we have much in common. I too am a Christian and feel blessed that you sought me out so to speak. I only started quilting after I retired in 2002. It seems my family and friends are very eager for one of my quilts. This year one of my intents is to give a quilt to charity for every quilt I give to a family or friend. So far I am keeping up. 1 - 1! I especially love scrap quilts, but so many patterns catch my eye that I have many possibilities ahead of me. I was able to buy a Bailey's Home Quilter with which I am able to quilt many of my own quilts. I do not have a frame for it, but use it as a domestic sewing machine. It is so much easier to quilt bigger quilts on it. I'm far from perfect, but am enjoying the process. God bless you and yours, Dorothy
Ann, Thanks for the friend request! We must be two of a kind - only you get a lot more done in a shorter amount of time than what I do! I need to take a lesson from you on time management. :) I enjoyed seeing your hand quilted projects and all of your hand work, both piecing and applique. I have a grandmother's flower garden project in the works, but I think I only have 13 completed. I was trying to make a "flower" from fabrics of each quilt I made, but I haven't quite kept up. Looking forward to seeing more of your projects.
Glad you are having a nice birthday. Thank you for the compliment about my quilt cross stitch. I love it also. However, I do not sell my cross stitch pieces. They take endless hours to complete.......I do have a store on Etsy where I sell my quilts. http://www.etsy.com/shop/CoyotteeGirl?ref=si_shop
Yes! It's hard to explain, but I didn't use the same fabric more than twice for the blocks. That doesn't mean, of course, that all fabrics were used twice. Some of the fabrics were only used once. And then for the triangles, I used some of the fabrics from the blocks, but no two triangles have the same fabric. And then, the background fabric is a whole 'nother story. This sounds very confusing!
Hi! And welcome to the Dear Jane group. I've been working on my DJ for two years and will be finishing up the triangles (only 18 more) this spring. I started using just a plain white for background, but I loved how the blocks look with print backgrounds. I'm sure my quilt will be quite colorful! I am using a tan tone-on-tone fabric for my sashing. Look through my pics~ I have the top half of DJ assembled, and you can see how it looks. I am looking forward to finishing the triangles and starting to quilt my DJ. Enjoy your Dear Jane journey!
Ann, I have ordered from them several times. I love their fabric. There is no duty on fabric :o) and shipping and taxes are reasonable, esp if you place a larger order....it is still well worth it. Of course you have Len's for variety but you can't beat the CT pricing esp the clearance stuff!!
Hi Ann, Welcome to the Quilting Canadians site- I am sure you are going to enjoy getting to know all the fine quilters on this site. You asked whether I quilted everything on my site- Yes is the answer- I have been quilting since 1996 and do all my own piecing and machine quilting. I have not done as much lately but hope to get some done this spring and summer as I need some quilts as gifts. Thanks for your kind words and for stopping by- I will look forward to seeing you on the Quilting Canadians comment page.
