It looks as thou you live in a country area, I live on the edge of the national park, and tractors are part of our life too, I love this forum, do you?
Lynne, I posted a request to be included in your BOM for 2013 but also just read you wanted an email sent to you so here it is, please add me to your BOM if possible. I also just added a request to add you as a friend.
Lynne, if you want to be really close and spend a bit more, you could stay at the Kahler Hotel downtown and it is connected by tunnels & skyways to all the clinic buildings. You wouldn't have to leave the indoors to go anywhere. It also will connect you to a number of restaurants; Red Lobster, Kahler coffee shops & restaurants, and all the hospital cafeterias are available to you. I know my way around there fairly well; it seems we are always there for something. There is also a hotel nearby south of the clinic, but you would have to drive. It's near Soldier's Field (Best Western, I think). But there is no shortage of hotels. On S. Broadway (main street through downtown), there are lots of hotels. I just can't name them. Give the Kahler Hotel a call; they might not be too expensive. It's where all the important people stay. LOL
Thanks for the retreat info, Lynn. I've written to Heidi and will let everyone know when I get some details. I told her possibly late June since you and others will be done planting and Rhonda will be done with her son's wedding (mid-June). More later.
Hi Lynn, I'm heading up north and planning to stop at Sunnydale. Do you know if they have extra wide muslin? I need some for the back of the Irish chain I just finished.
Lynn, I tried to send you and email, but I must be having problems with it cause I couldn't find any of my friends on line.
I just wanted to let you know that I can order Superior Threads at a discount. I'll be ordering some next week......should you have any colors that you really need let me know.
I already felt we were friends. I didn't notice we we're actually "friends" either. You do amazing stuff - plus all the farm stuff and family obligations!!! In a sense, I'm glad that I'm past that phase of my life - not quite so demanding being retired!!!
I really wouldn't want a surprise like that at 45. Laura has been a surprise every day of my life! Hopefully your friend is safe. Oh I just saw your HST star quilt, I love it. I bet it was easy, too. I bet my sis would like it, too.

Lynn, thanks for the LA info. I think the customer service part is very important too. LQS has a class the end of this month so I think I'll sign up for it. She doesn't sell the machines but gives lessons on the one in her shop. Once you know enough not to break it you can pay to use it. I wouldn't want to do that indefinitely but think it'll be a good way to try one out and know more what I want. I know there were a lot of diff ones at the Des Moines show last year so can check those out too.
If you get offon exit 141 in Altoona, it will be right there. It's in front of Menard's and right down the road from Adventureland. The Ankeny Walmart is keeping their fabric dept. so they probably have it too.
What class are you taking with Dawn? I am jealous!
FYI, The Altoona Walmart (which is losing the fabric dept.) had JD cheater fabric! It would be good for a play date with Lenni! ;O) I think it was down to $2.22/yd, maybe cheaper. If you want some and can't get there, let me know and I can pick it up for you. Cheater fabric is so fun for practice quilting!
Check out Joann's.com- in the bottom left hand corner of the screen there is a link to their new John deere fabric collection! Thought you might be interested.
