Thanks Gina! I haven't heard from Lisa either but then with the repairs, I haven't been on the computer very much. I hope she is okay but I wish she would let us hear from her.
As for the repairs, we have completed the ones that were from the water damage and now I want to go ahead and fix the floor in the first bedroom off the area that was damaged. There wasn't damage in that room but it sure made the ugly carpet stand out like a sore rthumb. LOL We will see. I guess my break is over and I need to go back to hauling boxes back inside from the storage. Bye-Bye!
It is gorgeous. I am doing okay but am having to pack up everything in my kitchen, dining area and living room to do repairs from water damage. A water line broke behind my refrigerator and did a loot of damage. Since my home is the open concept( all one big room actually) I had to get out everything to have the floors replaced. The workers should be here Tuesday morning. I haven't sewed in weeks and I haven't received the swap package from Lisa yet. I will chat later on, back to the chores now.
I am going to make a dumb request and ask if you will explain what your avatar is? The picture is small and my eyes are getting very old and I cannot for the life of me tell what it is. I am just wondering. Thanks!
I'm not sure why but my computer has been messing with my quilting friends--granted, any group that enjoys cutting fabric apart and putting it back together is a bit suspicious. If this doesn't work, email me directly firstname.lastname@example.org

Hi Gina, thanks for the offer to send me the pattern. That was very kind of you, but I got the pattern! Yeah! I'm in the process of looking for specialty fabrics to do the shorts. Now I'm thinking of making the boxer shorts for the 12 yr old instead of adapting the pattern for board shorts. That's his underwear of choice, so I know he'd like it. Oh if he only knew I'm talking about his underwear! Sorry it took so long to get back to you, and I'd love to be your friend.
Hi Gina, thanks for the info on Boxer Mania. I was so happy to look it up and I ordered the pattern. Will probably lengthen the leg a little to look more like board shorts. I am thrilled. Again, thank you. Will make the first one for the 12 yr old GS!
The Maple leaf table runner is a tessellation. I drafted out the block and colored it in then pieced it together. Tessellations are fun, even though I usually wind up making them one block at a time (or row as in this case) so I can determine the placement of color as I go.
There are patterns out there, but that was just a simple 6.5" squares. Wrong sides together, sew a 1/2" seam. Raw edges to the flannel side. then clip each seam every 1/2 inch to get the rag effect. I always find that after the first washing, I find I have sometimes clipped too far and have to go back and resew some seams. There is no need for batting with the denim. With the flannel and minke I found that I didn't need any batting either. If you were just to use flannel you would cut a 6" square of batting and the quilt each square with and X and sew the squares together. I hope I haven't confused you. LOL
