Your totes, quilts and projects are all wonderful. You do lovely work! I like the tea wallets - how fun. The baby tote is great, too.

Here's the fabric line: 'Chocolate Love' collection by Audrey Jeanne Roberts for Studio E Fabrics. They have some really great ones in that collection.
Thanks, Nikki. I was so pleased with how it turned out and it does seem like just the right size. I'm not a "big bag" person either. I am playing with other fabrics, but I think this one will be my favorite. The one thing I'd do differently next time is to extend the handles deeper into the bag for more support. I'm concerned these might pull out with time, because only 1/4" was sewn into the bag. I may stitch decorative pieces where the handles meet the bag just for added strength. The color isn't quite right in my picture - the front pocket looks a little pink to me in the picture, but the reds match perfectly in real life. :0)
Happy quilting! PQ

Thanks for the comment on my shopping bag...I plan to fill it with lots of treats at the AQS show in DSM next month. You have a lot of cute projects in your picture gallery. I did about 20 notebook covers last year for gifts. When I find something I like I tend to make it in mass quantities!!
OOps, sorry! I accidently sent a message to you that should have gone to someone else! Thank you on the girls. They are sweeties and great quilting buddies.
It is a series called Sweetheart by Benartex. I am hoping to avoid online as we have to pay US exchange, duty, and our lovely GST. I hope to get out this week to some of the bigger stores around town.I got the focal flower fabric out of town as well as 2 of the complimentary ones, but REALLY REALLY want another floral or 2. I want to make one of Valori Wells Sole patterns. But her fabric is not sold anywhere here that I can.
I was really into the muted earth tones and have a big stash of that but now I love the retro 60's and 70's florals in tones of turquoise and lime green. Sort of like Amy Butlers but intense colours.
You were lucky to find the exact same fabrics. Did you have to get them online? I ask because I am looking for a particular line and having trouble. I live in Toronto Canada, a city of 3 million people and I am hunting high and low LOL.
Want a new friend LOL?
Nikki, thanks for the input about the bag patterns! I am currently making 3 of the Darn Cute Bags from Bunny Hill Designs. 2 for my sisters and 1 for myself. I am using the Connecting Threads fabric pictured here http://www.connectingthreads.com/patterns/Darned_Cute_Bag_Pattern__D55393.html. I am hoping to get them finished before my current purse handles break as they are torn about half way now. Did I mention that the bags are for my sister's birthdays which are June 29 and 30? I'm a little late!
hi Nikki...I love your bags that you made, they are very nice...and I love the verse you have in 1 Thessalonians, one of my favorites...another sister in the Lord...there are quite a few here...
Nikki - the colour is Benjamin Moore CC-338, Bluffs. The painter didn't actually use Benjamin Moore; I think they used ICI paint, but any one who sells paint can usually match the colour.
I really like it in the studio. It's a nice warm colour but doesn't compete with the colours in my fabric and quilts. Happy painting!! Colleen
