Welcome to the Love of Art Quilts group. We are a very chatty group and still find the time to create our own quilts/art. We even have block exchanges and it is so much fun. Get ready to hop on board and hang on!
Welcome to the Love of Art Quilts Group, I am so happy that you decided to join. Like I said we are a chatty group, full of information, excitement and wanting to see all that you do. Jump right in we love hearing how others do their quilts, you have a lot to share!!
The challenge is out, lets see how many of us can join the wonderful new campaign called Stitching for Pink !!! Starts today until 30 October. Its gonna be so much fun with 10 projects to complete. Come on Embroiderers lets unite and join the fight against Breast Cancer !!!
Do you think the group should donate some things to Janet's cause? I see where the guild is holding a garage type sale on the 22nd. for them. I am sure we could all search through our stuff and come up with something worthy. I wander if we can find out who at her guild is running the sale. Just a thought for the group, if would be something we could do to help.
Let me know,
P.S. I will find the guild information, as I want to send something anyway.
Hi...Where is ID do you live? I grew up in Hayden and graduated from Coeur d'Alene high school 48 yrs ago. It has sure changed thru the years from a logging town to a tourisst town. I still have amany relatives and friends there and go over every year.
Thanks for the friendship request. I look forward to seeing your work and getting acquainted. Like you, I'm a member of Vintage Quilts, but haven't posted in a while. I found a great old - no date, so I haven't called it "antique" yet - two-color Solomon's Puzzle quilt in an antique shop. Hand pieced and hand quilted. The quilting on it is very well done. The seller apparently didn't know what she had because I bought it for $65. It was in MINT condition! It has embroidered on it "Helen from Vends" (Vende/Verde/Verds???) The last word is hard to read. I know of no town by that name in our area. The previous owner had bought the quilt on an estate auction and had no idea of the history on it, sadly enough.
Thank you for inviting me to be your friend, ArtQuilter--I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. I spent the day today with ladies from my quilt guilds for a Sew Day--didn't get done as much as I had hoped (of course), but I got to help some ladies who want to learn to hand quilt. The talk and the laughter are what made the day so pleasant! Tomorrow, I'll pick the first romaine lettuce from my container garden--I'm going to pick the outer leaves while they are still small instead of waiting to cut a whole head. They are supposed to keep producing more leaves that way--at least until the summer heat is too much for them. We've used mint, rosemary, oregano and parsley so far--but still a long time to wait for tomatoes and squash! Have a good evening!
Thanks Glenda for the compliments. Snickers is a yorki-poo. We got him off the billboard at the mall one week before I lost my Dad to cancer. Thanks for asking me to be your friend. Looking forward to our online chats.
Good evening Glenda, hope you are progressing on all your projects.
I just want to take the time like my dear friend Charlotte to invite you to join the Love of Art Quilts group. Like Charlotte says, we are a very chatty group, but a lot of fun and informational. So feel free to jump in any time, we look forward to seeing and chatting with you.
Art Quilter--you might want to check out Patternsfromhistory.com--it's a site with background information about old quilt patterns, free patterns, and many links to other sites for more information or instruction. The GFG I'm making is EPP (English Paper Pieced) and the pieces are whip-stitched together--I'm having fun collecting thirties fabrics to make it. I know it will take a long time, but the sample project I've done has been relaxing and extremely portable--I get quite a bit done when I go with my DH to VA appts, etc.
Hi! I'd like to invite you to join our Love of Art Quilts group. We're mostly newbies to the art form and we all have different styles and experiences. I've only made one so far, but it was a doozie! LOL Some of the gals in the group are taking on-line classes in making portraits. (I should warn you we're a very chatty group and quite a few of us are in the aceo/atc group as well!) We've got a lot af good info between all of us and we love to share what we know and ask about what we don't know. Come join us!
