Beautiful work, I'm grand fan of totes.. Make baby quilts for donation how I practice from donated fabrics,  which is lots of fun. Always learning new things. Prefer sewing clothes with knits, polar fleece, error proof. Always think others quilting more experienced than myself.

Welcome, as far as retirement don't know why it is called so,

cause you are busier than real work.

Such beautiful things you've done!!  I love the red and black, don't you!?   Clemons is near Marshalltown.  I live out in the country on a small acreage.  I retired last year after 33 years with the same company, so we have that in common, too!

Thanks for the welcome Jackie. I'm new to quilt groups. Only others quilters I know is a Facebook mystery quilt. They are mostly from Canada. I found the mystery for 2014 on here and thought what the heck. That lead me to find the Iowa group.

I'm either losing my mind or have lost a lot of time. I just read a note from you dated June! Surely I had read it and forgot (?) Anyway I am a Jackie O. also. My maiden name is Osborne, lol. I am a Jacqueline with no middle name. I'm not ready for Christmas at all, which is so unlike me. I have to go do some shopping this coming week or I might as well hide in a closet till it's over! Just lost my oldest sister this week and that has put me in a low mood but need to cheer up for the rest of my family. Out of 5 girls now, 2 of us have passed. So, on a happier note, Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Hi Jackie---Thanks for the nice comments.  I plan to make a window quilt with the Dresden plate blocks.  These colors match my room.  I have made 12 fifteen inch blocks.  Then I quit and made other projects, but I will get back to it.  I got me a new Pfaff Saturday. The little Passport.  I am sure that I will love it.  Good to hear from you.  I have lived in Omaha, NE for over 10 years, so I know the winter is a good time to quilt..............as is any time.

This is beautiful.  You have been busy.  There is so many quilts to make and so little time and money for fabric.  What kind of sewing machine do you use?  I love the red quilt.  Of course my favorite color is all tints of red!!

I just found your friend request.  I am a little slow and still trying to figure this blog stuff out.  I do love being retired but find I don't spend as much time in the sewing room as I thought it would. It's like I have all the time in the world and don't get things done as fast as I did when I was working, because I don't have the time pressure and deadlines like I used to.  Eventually I suppose the "honeymoon" will wear off a little and I'll get more organized.  I do so love reading the blogs and seeing what everyone is doing.  As soon as I figure out how, will post some pictures of my past projects.  I am sew happy to be your friend!

Jackie, thanks for adding me to your friends list.  Yes, I quilt all my own.  Right now I have a stretched Juki on a Grace Pro frame using MQR (robotics).  Just went to my 1st quilt show in Des Moines and tried my hand at FM.  Never thought I could do it as I have hand tremors so badly I can't even read my own writing these days.  But I wrote my name using a Innova 22" and it looked great.  Rethinking the FM now.

Hi Jackie,

It was great meeting you, too. That Buzzard's food sure was good.

Yes, I made it home around 11:30 after stopping for a few groceries at 'HY-VEE'.

Have fun the rest of your quilt show time.

Linn Grove is in the Northwest corner of Iowa. Inbetween Spencer and Storm Lake and west of Sioux Rapids. We are located next to the Little Sioux River.  Great fishing at the damn.
