Jackie-thanks for the info--and you were right,it was perfect. Don't think 13 inches will be enough,so I will keep looking and may order it from that web sight. I see Joannes had it in Christmas colors! LOL thanks again-I will find it or use something else.

Jackie, a belated happy birthday to you! did you make the quilt block with the colorful flower pot? I wonder if you know where I can get some more of it? I would like to use it for a zinger in the border-would maybe need a half yard or less.,
You have some beautiful quilts on your page. Pat A

Hey Jackie - I don't know yet what time I'll get there - I'm stopping at my sister's in DM first. I may have to wait until Sat too - is there a way I can reach you?

Hi Jackie! The blocks you commented on are from a BOM from Prairie Point Junction, Cozad, NE from 2009 called Working at the Five and Dime. The blocks are 5" and 10" without the setting squares around them hence the name Five and Dime! Most of the blocks are quite easy and straight forward. I really enjoyed it but was not able to finish it since we had to move to KS. I do have the patterns......just gotta find the time to catch up on them!!! ;0)

Hi Jackie!

My husband is originally from Redfield - his dad published the Dallas County News for many years - so Adel is very familiar to us!

Orton is a familiar name to us - Evelyn Orton Kuefner and her family are very good friends. Her family was from Ortonville and were circus performers. Do you know them? Her children all grew up in the Adel area. Their daughter, Becky (Kuehl) was tragically killed in a house explosion near Waukee four years ago.

We live in Cedar Rapids now so do not get back to that area as much. I do know there is a wonderful quilt shop now in Adel :)

Take care,
Mary Tiedemann

Jackie, how scary...I've had that enter ear stuff a couple of times during my adult life and it make you feel like you can't walk doesn't it. I hated laying down because the room spun even more. My sympathy to you. Hope you get over it soon.

Thanks Jackie! It was hard just to pick 2 blocks to make....but that's all I could manage in the short time period I had to make them today.
