First off, I apologize for not having responded to your comment to my pic way back almost 6 months ago! I don't get on this site much recently. The pic is actually one I captured on our visit southward out of Moab, Utah, near the Colorado River. As far as your question re: how close I am to Williams, AZ - approximately 2 hours. Never been there that I can recall. I'm actually half way between Phoenix and Flagstaff. We still get snow here, but not more than I could send my husband outside with the hair dryer to get rid of for me. One of these days I'll post a pic of my view from the house of the Mingus Mountains. Gotta find that camera!
Hi Marie - I'm sorry that I haven't gotten back to you until now. I've been checking this every day, but I'm so new to this blogging world I've been nervous to try it. I'm glad to hear you're feeling better - sounds like you have a rough go of it with everything. It does sound like you had a great time at your retreat! I went on one in January for the first time and I absolutely loved it! I'm going with the same folks next year too! My dog Bailey is part collie and part lab - she is a doll, although very protective of me. She and the cat are always in my sewing room with me keeping me company. Take care!
Hi, Marie: I'm glad your you're better. Side note: Shingles never truly goes away. It can flair up from time to time. Alot of Dr. don't like to tell their patients that. Quilt Retreat! Someday I'm going to go. My sons took my husband camping this weekend, so Alyssa and I are going to do some "girl" things. I do have to be a the shop for a while today, but after, we're going to go to the fair. We're starting to get everything in order for the shop hop. . Take care and keep quilting.
Hello from another Marie. I think your quilts are beautiful. Good luck with the "more time for quilting" seems like life seems to get in the way. We are getting ready for the graduation of our youngest in a few weeks then I will have more time for the quilting side of my life. I also would spend more time in my sewing room if I would stop visitng this website all the time but I do love it. Happy quilting!!!!!
Marie: Guilty-----I haven't been following the Southern Stars for a while/ work/school etc. I'm going to catch up this weekend on the blocks. Your picutres are wonderful. You say you're a newbie! You must be a natural born quilter then. I will try to stay up with everyone. Have a good weekend.
Marie, Just wanted to say thank you for the thoughts and prayers for my daughter Sarah! I have posted updated information and wanted to let you know I appreciated the support during such a difficult time!
Hi Marie, How are things going with you? I just looked at those beautiful quilts you posted. I have a fondness for sunflowers. I made a sunflower wall hanging. I would love to share a pic of it....but, I just found out my camera doesn't work! I don't know what happened, the lens won't come out. I was going to take my camera on a quilting mission today and well I had to come up with plan B and take a color wheel with me instead. I was trying to get the colors picked out for my co-workers baby quilt. I found out she is having a girl. Well, just wanted to catch up with you. Have a great start to Spring. I had to go out and buy a heather plant and a cyclamen (flower plant). I displayed them with pictures of flowers. I am so excited for spring to get here. Bye Dyan Stoutenburg
Marie your quilts are beautiful and your piecing skills are amazing! I hope to be as good as you are already! Your UFO's will find homes I promise, and you have far less UFO's than i do so at least you are ahead in that game!! Happy Quilting!
Hello Marie: I really like your pictures. Lovely quilts. My husband is off to a Search and Rescue meeting and I don't have to drive anyone to school. Quiet morning to myself. I think I'll have a second cup of tea and maybe cut out the next two blocks for Southern Stars before I go to the shop. What is the name of your husbands shop? I don't get into Hesperia very often, BUT someday I may just drop in and introduce myself ( this time with a face). Have a nice day and I will chat with you again.
