Profile Information

About Me: I took one quilting class and was hooked. That was 1997. When my oldest son went away to college Elna (Quilter's Dream Pro) begged me to move her into his room. The rest is history. I am currently in charge of the annual Quilt Raffle at the Misericordia Family Fest in Chicago, held in September. I either make a quilt or coordinate a group effort to make one. I have two grown sons. I live with my husband and our four-legged friend, Oscar. Life is good!

I initiated a group (here) called Chicagoland Quilters. Please consider joining if you live in or near the Chicago area.

Chicagoland Quilters ~ want to invite anyone who lives in the Chicago area to join for the purpose of connecting with quilters here. The purpose is to share information about favorite quilt shops, opening (hooray!) or closing (boohoo!), shows, retreats, etc. Please consider hooking up with us! I have been in very serious pain, hurt my back a couple of months ago, and just started physical therapy. I had my first session on Friday, and feel a little better already. We actually live in Lake in the Hills, out by Huntley area! Still not to far from Chicago. I have only lived in IL for about 5 years now, born and raised in the south. Maybe for a New Year Resolution we can get it going again?

Her Doctor's are out of CHrist and Dialysis is on 91st and Cicero.
I know Alsip very well because I used to be the manager of Baker's Square in Alsip. I still have friends that work out there and live in ALsip.
Mom can't really see anymore, yet she does like to play bingo at ParkLawn every now and then, since they have computers that she really doesn;t have to see. Just to get out and mingle. It is wonderful to meet you hope to chat a bit again soon, Denise

There are a couple of very nice shops in Rockford and one just west of Rockford in Pecatonica that is nice. I live about 2 miles from there. Quilters General Store in Rockford has a website as does Lucky 2 B Quilting in Pecatonica.

Your quilts are beautiful and Big. Liked the head sticking out from one of them.! Also Noticed your pup being treated quite regally. Reminds me of my cat.....spoiled but loved..

Read the blurb about the retreat and that looks improbable right now but i will give it some thought.

It will be nice to hook up with some Chicago Quilters because I sure don't know any.......
