I've been quilting for about ten years. i rememeber seeing old quilts around grandma's house and always thought they were pretty. Grandma didn't make them, my great-grandmother did. Mostly they were nine-patches. I love depression prints and star quilts and fine quilting.

the newest member of our family!

We've named her Missy, she's about eight weeks old, black lab, and the runt of the litter.  She's very well behaved and very intelligent.  She's also very sweet!

I have a rare Sunday off, so I made today a quilting day.  I was up at a pretty early time, 6:30am to be exact.  Went downstairs, had some breakfast, went back upstairs, took my shower, then went to my quilting room.  I have  a baby quilt that I wanted to get basted today.  I got everything I needed, got my layers centered and all smoothed out. At this point, my cat Psycho decided to supervise.  Spent the next forty minutes working around my supervisor.  My supervisor is weird and likes to have… Continue

New Year's Day Dimunitive Vessals quilt

This is my quilt from a New Year's Day project.  It came out really pretty.  Summer says we have to keep it. :) 

We had a wonderful Christmas with very little emotional upset over it being our first Christmas without Duane.  Summer was ecstatic over her presents and almost knocked me to the floor from hugging me!  I got some cd's, some movies, and of course, fabric.  My sister gave me two tied-dyed long-sleeved t-shirts that are in my favorite colors.  I am glad things have settled…

Today is a good day.

At 6:00am, the school's automated update system called to let us know that there was a two hour delay because of the fog. Summer heard the phone ring and I told her what was up and let me sleep some more, which she did. At about 8:30, school was canceled. After that, I went upstairs to sew and got the center portion of quilt completly quilted. All that is left is the borders, which I don't think will take long. While sewing, my Aunt Mildred called. If you have a JoAnn's near you. They have coupons for 40 or 50 % off in there flyers that you sign up for. I got mine from them and I love it. You keep the box that it came in for storing it when not in use. Good luck. I think I have had mine for at least 10 yrs.

I forgot to tell you about Block Swappers Inc. Check out this group if you like to do block swaps. BS #2 begins August 1st and the rules are posted in the discussion forum of that group. Also, we have just begun a Christmas Swap and the rules for that are also posted.

Hi Annie,We are glad to have you in Round Robin's Nest. We are almost finished with RR #2. It will end in September. We will begin another "Traditional" Round Robin about the 1st of October. ArtQuilter is just beginning an Ostrich Challenge which is a mystery quilt done in sections, but each participant does all of the sections themselves and the quilt does not leave home. You can join in on it now or wait for the traditional one in October.

Hi Annie! I am so sorry for the loss of your Husband. It was sweet of you to let your DD have a friend over for a sleepover....but I am sure it wore on your already frazzled nerves. I sure wish you were near me so I could come and hang out with you....even if we just sit and say nothing, at least you wouldn't feel so alone for a while.
