The days may seem long but the weeks and months fly by. So many changes have happened in my life. My dear hubby needs more and more care. Keeps me busy. Not as much time for quilting these days but I still get some things done. Working on quilting a string quilt. I love picking out fabric, deciding on a pattern and piecing however the quilting part is not my favourite part. I even enjoy the quiet sitting down and hand stitching the binding down, more. It is taking three times as long to get…

you know you have too much stuff in your quilting room when you have been looking for a project for months then discover it's been under your nose the whole time. Today i was cutting strips for a quilt project and was putting some away for another time when a certain container caught my eye. Lo and behold it's the very project I could not find for many months, just sitting there laughing at me, or so it seemed. Guess it is time for spring cleaning and sorting for my sewing room or maybe…

Cheryl, thank you for your condolence. I'm glad I have good friends and my sewing to keep me busy. It helps to keep my mind
Hi Cheryl...Good to hear from you.! Thanks for checking out my pictures..I haven't posted anything for a while..but I do need to though..Hopefully we will get to see those grandchildren soon..
I just signed up for the mystery quilt..Have you done this before.? I made a perfect pieced quilt along and I loved it so much and learned so much it wasn't funny..
Where have you been traveling? It is so much fun isn't it? Enjoy your sewing machine! I miss all mine,,but can't seem to find the time to make them all happy..LOL- Have a great day.!
Cheryl, Thanks for having me as your friend..I went thru your photo's..nice work..esp. your sunflowers quilt.! and you too make the fabric bowls..I am now doing them for Easter gifts for my family...
Glad to have you as my friend.
Cheryl, thanks for commenting on the baby quilt. It was a fun, little project.
I've been enjoying scrolling through your pictures this morning. Very nice work. Hope you are having a nice summer.
Hi Cheryl,
Snow's almost gone, but the weather is sure fickle. Sun is out right now, but the wind is blowing rather hard. I am just working on an embroidery project at the moment and haven't been able to even sit on the sewing machine to do some piecing. I'm looking forward to having my left shoulder fully functional again.
Take care and hope for Spring to really stay around.
O I see you love bags and old machines too. Hope your Bonnie quilts does came out pretty. My second one with this year mystery came out more fun using all the fish left over from other quilts. Still have to take pictures and quilt it.
My two string quilts were big lap size. One I gave as a wedding gift, she got to pick from my pile of quilts and the string quilt was her choice. Which was quilted in orange, her husband favorite color. I do Bonnie Hunter quilts, they are all very heavy queen size, from all the small pieces. She also did have quilt with strings, ocean Bay about four years ago as the mystery. The blocks just all the same, like shades of white strips for the triangles, then shades of red. Not fast for me. I have yet to string all the whites.
Hi Cheryl - thanks for the nice welcome message. Yes, I did make the quilt you mentioned. You can see a better photo of it on my profile page photos. I made it for my husband - it is hand appliquéd and hand quilted. Yes, I'm crazy but I love the handwork. I am warming up to machine quilting though after 20 years of so of dislike. I love all the wonderful thread colors available. And the quilts get done MUCH faster!
Hope your week is going well. Take care!
Thanks Cheryl. It's great that everyone is so helpful.
I hope mother nature is kind to you this week! Thank you for the comment on my page! Enjoy your week!
