I taught myself cross stitch, then blackwork caught me, then embroidery, then knitting... quilting is the one major thing I have always wanted to do but had no clue how to start. So I am about to- with paper piecing! Might as well go all out and hand sew a quilt! :)

just came across your profile and wanted to say...GOOD FOR YOU!!!you hand quilt that first quilt!! i am self taught in everything i do, and while my technique may not be textbook, i am still pretty darn pleased with myself for doing it on my own, and you should be too!!
OOPS, it is not at connectingthreads.com it's a paperpieces.com, they also sell the already made packages for the size hex's you need. I tried the ruler way when I started, boring, it's just easier to order them. Also, MSdesigns has a site for EPP w/free workshops and she also sells the EPP templates for EPP.
