Canadian new quilter

I am retired and live in Lindsay, Ontario. I have been trying to 'quilt' for about a year now. happy to learn anything that will improve my sewing. Look forward to talking to as many of you as possible.

I am interested in knowing if there is anyone else from Lindsay in this group.

I spent all last week up to yesterday cleaning up my sewing room (again) after I made a huge mess looking for a specific piece of material (and no I did not find it LOL) now I am good to go after I spend some time cleaning the rest of the house that I neglected over that time.

Glad to see you are on the Canadian site. There is a large 'day' quilt group in Peterborough. In fact they are putting on a quilt show in May this year. I could get you a contact name and number if you like. Two of my good friends are on the show committee....I am not a member as yet, as I still work full time, days.....but my time WILL come!! At least, that's what I keep telling myself!

At 7:01am on January 2, 2009, Edith Lean/Ont. said…: HI Lucille: I think if you try it this way Sew to the V, keep your needle down. lift your presser foot twist slightly and crease fabric (like you would a mitre) put presser foot down and continue sewing, you might want to go back and hand sew it down, but I found that that worked for me.
