Hello, and so glad to be joining this group! I'll add pictures soon, but just wanted to jump in! I live in Fort Wayne, and we just had an ice storm that took power out for 1/4 of our city. We live in the county area and were fortunate to only lose power for a few hours, versus many of our friends were out for a week! We have had a melt down now, single digit temperatures one day, and then almost 70 the next. So, things are back to normal 30's and 20's now, with some snow thrown in. I co-own a… Continue

I did a search to see if there were any FW quilters and your name came up! We moved to FW from the country about 40 miles north of here a year ago. What church do you attend? We are still attending one from "up north!" I would love to find a church that has a quilting group around here.

Hi Lynn,

Yes, Van Wert is close, we usually go to Ft. Wayne for shopping and entertainment. We do have a nice small quilt shop here called The Country Cupboard located just south of the downtown district. They carry a traditional palette, country colors, Thimbleberries and the like. What is the shop in Leo like? I've not been there yet but hope to go soon. How long of a drive is it from the north side of the city? I have enjoyed the shops that have come and gone from Ft. Wayne. You asked about our business, we are in health care, my husband is a podiatrist and I am a registered nurse. I manage his muti-site practice. At one time I was very disciplined and only worked on one project at a time, start to finish. But I found that I'm much more productive and creative when I have several projects going on a time. Not sure how that works but it's nice to say that I have several WISPS (works in slow progress) as opposed to UFO's, guess it works for me. Hope that you enjoy your new class, my guild has our annual retreat this weekend and I'm looking forward to adding to my WISPS!

Hope you stay safe during this winter stormy week,
