I'm a semi-retired RN, getting ready to go back to work. (BOO) My husband passed alittle over 2 years ago. i worked for a year then decided I didn't like the job I was in and wanted to take some time off. I've been quilting for about 5 years, although I've been sewing since I was young. I have a daughter in college locally. Danni's thought was "Why go away to school and be broke, when I can stay at home, go to school, be broke but still eat." Smarty pants.

Just wanted ya'll to know that I've named the group of quilts that I'm making for my family in New Orleans. It totaled 18 quilts.( I'm keeping my longarm lady very busy.) I've calling them "The Louisannna Non-Purchased Collection". All of the fabric for the tops came from my stash except for one but the backing was from my stash. I did buy backing for the 5 kingsize quilts. I'm like my backs to be as pretty as the tops. My daughter looked at my remaining stash and asked when I was…


Tumbling Blocks

Just wanted to say thanks to all who answered my plea for instructions on putting the rows of the tumbling blocks quilt together. I don't want to get to "upset" with it so I've hung it neatly on the "next to do" spot and moved on the the bug jar quilts for the 3 young boy cousins in New Orleans. Don't feel bad, ladies. I only found one of my guild sisters who had actually done a tumbling block quilt using diamonds. She just laughed and said "Don't go into the 1/4inch seams". Thanks again… Continue

I know in Oct, the gals are planning to do tumbling blocks but I need help now. My Aunt has sent me a "kit". Not my colors. So I'm giving it back to her only put together.(I hope). This may have been what she was planning all along. This "kit" is from the early 90's and survived Katrina. She is 1 of 5 family members who lost everything.
