Quilt With Us

Hi everyone. I have a new grandson on the way - due April 1 and I have some beautiful minky fabric that I would like to use for his baby quilt. I have quilted with it before when I made a quilt with blocks and applique. I am looking for suggestions for a pattern and any hints you may have as this fabric does have stretch to it. Thanks everyone and have a great day.

I used it in blocks and in backings - if using it in backings, I suggest you spray basted it to the top (I don't use batting when using Minkee or Fleece as a backing). Try not to pull or stretch it out of shape.

If using it as borders or blocks, try not to stretch it - I just made a baby quilt using some (see my photos for the little lamb quilt) and stretched it and it does not lay flat even after I quilted it into submission!! I think in the future I might fuse a really lightweight stabilizer (maybe a water soluble one?) or forget it for borders.

If you like that pattern let me know -I'll pull it out & give you the contact info on it.

Maybe if you use a walking foot it won't strech as much.
