I am a long time member of "Quilting With Us" (QWU). I used to give virtual workshops here. Like many others, I have ventured out as QWU became more quiet.
We are getting the warning that QWU is at risk of being disabled. I fear this is a sign that QWU will one day be no more.
It has become like family here and the thought of losing the friendships we have developed has giving me a sad heart. Like many dark clouds, there is a silver lining. When I ventured out, I created a quilters social network, much like QWU. I never mentioned it, for it was a conflict of interest. However, in this dark hour, it is time to let others know there is an alternative. It does not have to end here.
I would be honored for QWU members to join "Pattern Pastiche". If needed, we are more than happy to create a group for your new home.

Yes, I don't think I will do it, either, Janet, but I will read the posts and follow along.
I probably won't do that Amanda. I really need to stay focused on finishing up so many of these older WIPs I have sitting in my sewing room.
Yes, I did see your link and read her two posts about that, Janet, I honestly feel like the market is just over saturated right now. It seems like every quilter you talk to has tons of fabric and UFO's, so buying more seems silly. But, I do hope that the shops, designers, and fabric companies are able to stay in business.
I am seriously considering her new BOM too, even though I know I should not! :o) Let me know if your decide to make it, Janet, the only thing more fun than starting a new quilt is starting it with someone else!
Amanda, did you see the link I posted on the main page to Barbara Brackman's info re: the attendance at quilt market, etc.? I should go check out her blog about this year's BOM although I keep telling myself to not start anything new!!!
Happy New Year everyone, here is to many, finished quilt for this year!
Merry Christmas to all!
I saw that Barbara Brackman is having a Yankee Diary BOM next year. It looks like fun, but since I am not done with the Dixie Diary from a few years ago, I am not starting this one.
thanks for the compliment! I agree, the quilting takes way longer than I plan for it to, Linda. Good luck on your UFO's! I would love to get some of he wide backings, but will have to wait for now.
I am hoping to get my purple one done in January.
The green quilt turn out very pretty Amanda. I am still working on some of my UFO and telling myself to not start another, before a few of the past get quilted. It does take time to plan and quilt our tops, besides the cost. Nice to have CT have backing on sell.
