I am a long time member of "Quilting With Us" (QWU). I used to give virtual workshops here. Like many others, I have ventured out as QWU became more quiet.

We are getting the warning that QWU is at risk of being disabled. I fear this is a sign that QWU will one day be no more.

It has become like family here and the thought of losing the friendships we have developed has giving me a sad heart. Like many dark clouds, there is a silver lining. When I ventured out, I created a quilters social network, much like QWU. I never mentioned it, for it was a conflict of interest. However, in this dark hour, it is time to let others know there is an alternative. It does not have to end here.

I would be honored for QWU members to join "Pattern Pastiche". If needed, we are more than happy to create a group for your new home.

Lois dear- it's not that far- you are just the next exit up ( or is it down) from me. I happen to be off this Thursday so that is not a problem there- just shoot me an e-mail with your apt address- - i know I was there once but forget the number unless you have moved since i was there.

Robin, Would love to go to the guild meeting but I hate to have you come after me, isn't it out of your way?  Then you would have to bring me back again and that, too, will be out of the way.  I miss going but I have given up the thought as I don't drive at night anymore but if, after thinking it over, you feel it is too much I will understand.  With you working it is doubly hard.

No- didn't see anything much that I really wanted to take besides I would have to get off work and that  will be rather difficult in the next few months.

You're probably getting a lot of sewing time in, Shirley!!?

Yes Becky is moving. What a loss it will be for the Blue Ridge Guild.

Have been a sit about the last two weeks due to a knee surgery that involved more than I thought. 4 more weeks(I hope that's all and I will be back to normal.

Anyone signed up for Quiltfest. I am taking the 2 day bag workshop and the Laura W. one on the last day.

I understand about the typos- I have a tablet I sometimes use and can't get the hang of typing on it!  I hear that Becky Ray has or will be moving to Washington state closer to her mother. I saw Lois at our guild quilt show. Busy at work and taking somewhat of a break from heavy quilting. Battling a sinus/ allergy thing past couple weeks but then we do live in the heaviest allergy area in the country.

P. S.  Sorry for all the typos in my note.  I wish we had a way to edit without deleting!
