Quilt With Us

When I was very young  around 6 yrs old I use to stand beside my grannys old Singer machijne and watch her sew litterally all night. She showed me how to embroider by hand and crochet. Her favorite Quilt I remember was quite simple, 12 large squares with each of her boyfriends names hand embroidered. What a joy i was fascinated, but didnt teach myself how to quilt until after granny passed on.Its so funny because Ive made quilts for all my grandchildren and most of the great nieces and great nephews. Ive only had about 1 or 2 real quilt classes, but I really enjoy all the books available,

I have been sewing since I was 6.  Started with cuptowels then pillowcases.  Was active in 4-H, sewed a lot. Never had a 'store bought' dress until I went to college.  Quilted along the way.  Pieced on my Granny's treadle.

I have made many. My mom taught me all I know about sewing.  I have taught quilt classes as well.

Just love to quilt. Never make those garments anymore!

I got off to a late start. In 2003 I had a friend show me how to quilt after I had my daughter. I was a working girl since I was 16 then all of a sudden I was a stay home mom. I was bored.I always wanted to learn to quilt and when I had a friend who wanted to show me I was thrilled. I have been quilting for 7 yrs now and I love it as much as I did when I started. I love learning new and easy techniques to make quilting faster and easier. Its the AAAHHHH, moment when you get what the directions are saying then you keep it in your head for the next quilt.  I will never stop making quilts and I'm getting ready to show my daughter how to quilt.I am excited for that to.
