On the way home from Bingo Friday night, we were discussing this recipe and talking about how good it is, so thought I would share it with you too!

Sandy....that is one of our family favorites also! We don't have a holiday dinner without it. YUM!!! I'm ready! Have a funny story to go along with it. One Thanksgiving, someone in my DH family made a comment about how good the corn casserole was. My DH knew that I had made it and made a comment about no one being able to make the corn casserole as good as I do. My MIL got totally mad, and she does have a temper! She informed him in so many words that she was never making it again....that if we were going to have it again his wife would be the one making it again! Of course, my DH was just joking, but she would not believe him. She still talks about my corn casserole to this day!

well don't you just have the best timing, Miss Sandy. I just found a ton of recipes I want to try out, I'll have to post my successes! That pumpkin bread sound awesome. One of the recipes I found is for cantaloupe bread, it's supposed to have similar texture to pumpkin bread but I want to make a couple of tweaks it. I have October Bunco, Connie, so I think your spiced nuts will be perfect.

This group sounds like it will be a great one with the holidays coming! I'm already thinking of recipes we like that would be great for gift giving or just eating at home! Here is one that I just made to serve at Bunco at my house in a couple of weeks, and I'm saving some to take to quilt retreat the first week-end in November!
Spiced Nuts
3 egg white (room temp.)
2 tsp water
32 oz. almonds or pecans
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 Tlbs. pumpkin pie spice
3/4 tsp. salt
Beat egg whites & water until frothy. Add nuts-stir gently. Combine other ingredients in a different bowl-then add to nuts. Bake uncovered 300 degrees for 20-25 minutes in 2 cake pans lined with "Easy Release Non-Stick Aluminum Foil". Stir every 10 minutes.
***** I usually use almonds and bake a little longer to make sure egg whites are cooked completely.
