I am a long time member of "Quilting With Us" (QWU). I used to give virtual workshops here. Like many others, I have ventured out as QWU became more quiet.
We are getting the warning that QWU is at risk of being disabled. I fear this is a sign that QWU will one day be no more.
It has become like family here and the thought of losing the friendships we have developed has giving me a sad heart. Like many dark clouds, there is a silver lining. When I ventured out, I created a quilters social network, much like QWU. I never mentioned it, for it was a conflict of interest. However, in this dark hour, it is time to let others know there is an alternative. It does not have to end here.
I would be honored for QWU members to join "Pattern Pastiche". If needed, we are more than happy to create a group for your new home.

It's now the end of Sept. this time last year I was a mess. THANK YOU LORD JESUS I am 98% better. Issues so small it don't matter. Great summer. Moved my sewing room, took back guest bedroom. Still purging drawers and cleaning the house of stuff we never use that's taking up much needed space. Three short get-a-ways. Two with my cousin who lost her husband several years and I trip with my hubby. Plans to go to the beach???? Making a baby guilt and monthly blocks for my guild. Hope y"all had a great summer. Sew long for now!!!! Reba
Great News Reba on you coming home and improving. This year will be a great year for quilters looks like. Some sad news for a young lady that I watched grow up, she lost her husband in a motorcycle accident this past Wed. They have a six year old son and an unborn child. Asking for prayers that our Lord will give her solace and peace now and in the future. Thanks ladies.
Hey ladies. I have lost a lot of time this last fall. I spent 63 days in the hospital or nursing home rehab with Guillian Barre. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I was so bad i could hardly hold a spoon to feed myself. Lost total control of everything except my arms and about the neck. After 5 nights of IVIG drug, things begin to change. Came home from rehab on Christmas day and I am still improving. Can walk some without my walker. Did some piecing on a quilt cut before I got sick. Glad to be back.
Hi all. Today is my birthday and I'm hosting a Birthday Giveaway on my blog. http://southernbellessewcreative.blogspot.com/ Just leave a comment on the blog for a chance to win a personalized embroidery artwork to hang in your sewing area.
Right back achya. Kroger was hopping this afternoon. We are just grilling a burger. The kids are going fishing.
Happy 4Th Everyone. Be safe and have loads to eat.
Thanks Debbie. No place like. The 2 years we live in Indiana after we married were miserable. Alabama is home for me. Borned here and will die here. I would like to have a small group of quilting buddies to work with on a regular basis. Our guild has grown to 39 members and its so hectic trying to get things done.
Hi everyone, news is that I have put my foot down and will not be moving to Texas. Georgia is home. Hubby now understands and has agreed. Although he wants to move and retire overseas somewhere. Men.... I did get most of my sewing room organized. A small group of five meet here now to work on a quilt for a show. I have joined a quilt club that has started in the county I live in. Do not want a guild as yet. It is fun and the ladies want to do things and learn things. We will be doing a facebook page shortly. Once we find a name for our group.
It seems this year it is not as hot so far as in years past, which is a good thing. But August is still around the corner. You all take care of yourselves and Reba you need to stop running your sewing machine with the pedal to the medal, bad for your foot hehe. Hope everything is fine with the xrays. Happy 50th also.
Hello all. The summer season is here with some hot days and nights. We have squash and peppers galore. Tomatoes are trickling in slowly. I have had some health issues...again. Left foot in a knee high boot. Doctor thinks I have a stress fracture, but we want know for sure until they do a scan in six weeks. So needless to say I will be dressed nicely for my 50th anniversary tea. I have just been making BOM's for the quilt guild. Also making odds and ends for the guild table at our quilt show in Nov. Hope all is well. Keep cool and keep sewing. Reba
