Quilt With Us

As we head into Mother's day weekend, I would like to know about your summer quilt projects.  Post a pick, share a project or just let us know what you have on the slate.

I am actually starting a Summer quilt of the QBOM, that I saw in Joann's and thought the colors were perfect.

They are on sale for $5 now so I loaded up my $25 weekly budget for fabric and am getting started.

It is a simple project and I am looking forward to working on it.

Would love to hear about your projects, fill me in!

My summer quilt projects are finishing ( or attempting to finish) UFO's and do some work on the Civil War Tribute BOM. I also was asked to make a pink ribbon quilt for a breast cancer group from work and I have a new grandchild on the way so I need to make a baby quilt. Robin
Sounds like you have a really full summer!

I found a really easy and great project on http://nqaquilts.org/free-projects/

Congrads on the grandbaby as well
I will be making a baby quilt for a dear friend's 1st great grandchild. The rest of the time i want to finish some UFO's, and make a quilt for the bed in my newly painted sewing/guest room. I'll also be finishing a cross stitch for the new room, and visiting with friends while we are in Vermont.

I am rather slow, for the summer I will be doing a mystery quilt that a friend sent the instructions for. I am doing it in the patriotic colors and plan to give it to my younger brother for his birthday in honour of the time he served in 'Nam as a medic. I also plan to learn how to use this "Tin Lizzie" to quilt up some of my tops so I can say I have made a quilt.
The colors are wonderful. I adapt patterns to make my own, personal copyright free blocks and quilts too. How are you avoiding copyright issues? I am not the copyright police, just curious how your quilts will differ. This is a very friendly inquiry. Are you basically using those colors, and similar blocks? That's what I am guessing.
Do you mean to tell me that some one designs a pattern and puts it on the internet and then can complain that you are stealing their copyrighted pattern? Really wild in my book. If they didn't want you to use it they should have put it in a folder in their sewing room and stored it.
