I knew this was going to be a big topic, but I was surprised how big.  How to narrow it down?!  My original plan was to find all the different block names associated with each star.  I quickly threw…Continue

I am a long time member of "Quilting With Us" (QWU). I used to give virtual workshops here. Like many others, I have ventured out as QWU became more quiet.

We are getting the warning that QWU is at risk of being disabled. I fear this is a sign that QWU will one day be no more.

It has become like family here and the thought of losing the friendships we have developed has giving me a sad heart. Like many dark clouds, there is a silver lining. When I ventured out, I created a quilters social network, much like QWU. I never mentioned it, for it was a conflict of interest. However, in this dark hour, it is time to let others know there is an alternative. It does not have to end here.

I would be honored for QWU members to join "Pattern Pastiche". If needed, we are more than happy to create a group for your new home.

Thanks Karen,
I understand how it works now...I guess I'm behind with the Southern Stars Quilt, but will order the pattern anyway.

Hi Betty and welcome! This is the quilt along and click here for the tutorial. There is no specific project in this group, we're just learning to make stars and sharing the results. The Southern Stars was another quilt along, last year, but the group remains open and there are a few members that still chat there. Click here for the Southern Stars quilt along.

I joined this group but don't seem to come up with any type of lesson tutorial when I click on Week 1, Week 2, etc. Where is the quilt along ...I am ordering the Southern Stars Pattern and it indicated that it could be done with the Quilt Along Group?

Oh, let's keep up the suspense here - if I show it, DH will find out about it (of course he already knows he's getting it, I just didn't clarify what Father's day year it will be)

Aida, I wish you would hurry up and post a pic of those blocks--the top for your DH.

Got all 12 blocks for my DH's quilt done (refer to my comment April 12th). Last night we laid them out on the bed to arrange the blocks to his liking.
Hopefully I'll have it done in time for Father's day.

Thank you Yolanda. I cut out the blocks for a SNW this afternoon. Now i can't decide if i want to use the right or wrong side of the fabric. May have to get DH suggestions as i like both. I think he is going to go for the wrong side, but i like the richness of the right too.

Good morning to all, hope this finds you safe. Weather is quilt friendly today. When its storming outside, its piecing weather inside! Finishing a Carolina Lily that was my Great-grandmothers! I love it! Stitching blessings for all, Janna
