Annette, good to hear from you. Prices have gone crazy on everything! And now when ordering online from Connecting Threads, you can't get less than a 1 yard cut. I don't want that large a cut most of the time. Grrr, so I don't buy any.
I couldn't find my grays so changed mine to black. Also changed the gold to a brighter yellow. Green will become aqua tones. I think lavendar would also work.
Hi Everyone! I'm back, doing the 2020 Grassy Creek mystery. Started off using browns as my grey but HATE it. Why do I buy brown? I never like it. Anyway, I went shopping for taupe instead, but am having a terrible time finding it. My LQSs don't have any left (imagine that, with Covid keeping the quilters quilting, and now this mystery with Grey's for backgrounds). Prices up here are crazy expensive. They've jumped up over $20/m. So anyone have any ideas of what other colour besides grey or brown?
have to finish the project on my table, then I'll start cutting this one
Haven't had a chance to even look at Bonnie's last 3 mysteries but doing this years - fabrics all picked = just got to get the first set of instructions which is the next thing I'm going to do.
Hi Cindy, I am doing the mystery again this year. Have clue 1 downloaded and all set to start tomorrow.
Hey ladies. It's mystery time again. Bonnie released her first clue this morning for "Grassy Creek". You can go to her blog to download the instructions . Hope that some of you join in the fun. I am doing it just as soon as I find my tub of gray fabric . Last year's is still waiting for final assembly but I need a design wall for that step.
I am a long time member of "Quilting With Us" (QWU). I used to give virtual workshops here. Like many others, I have ventured out as QWU became more quiet.
We are getting the warning that QWU is at risk of being disabled. I fear this is a sign that QWU will one day be no more.
It has become like family here and the thought of losing the friendships we have developed has giving me a sad heart. Like many dark clouds, there is a silver lining. When I ventured out, I created a quilters social network, much like QWU. I never mentioned it, for it was a conflict of interest. However, in this dark hour, it is time to let others know there is an alternative. It does not have to end here.
I would be honored for QWU members to join "Pattern Pastiche". If needed, we are more than happy to create a group for your new home.

Hello all...has been a crazy spring....hope summer better.....I have not finished the quilt but flimsy and backing ready as well as the batting I ordered has arrived. I have been making other things and every time I look at those three pieces I think.....man, it is too hot to shuffle that quilt around the sewing machine...so, i will put it together in the fall (as we call it - the rainy season.....)
I hope you are all well....a lot of sick people.....very scary at times.
I have all of my pieces made but top not put together. I usually do that in an October Retreat where I have design space. Hoping and praying it will happen this year. My goal is to always have the mystery pieced before the next one comes out.
Cora, you are way ahead of me. My pieces are in their respective numbered containers. Am ready to assemble but first have to make sense of the mixed up parts and get them back to their matched units.
Meanwhile, am going to put the current one together. Having it assembled in rounds makes it easier.
We are all doing okay, enjoying the sunshine. Daughter is raising chicks and ducklings. Painting the coop so it can be assembled. By fall we will have fresh eggs. Sons are building me a quilt studio. Got the floor down yesterdaynow onto framing it. Can't wait!
