I am a long time member of "Quilting With Us" (QWU). I used to give virtual workshops here. Like many others, I have ventured out as QWU became more quiet.

We are getting the warning that QWU is at risk of being disabled. I fear this is a sign that QWU will one day be no more.

It has become like family here and the thought of losing the friendships we have developed has giving me a sad heart. Like many dark clouds, there is a silver lining. When I ventured out, I created a quilters social network, much like QWU. I never mentioned it, for it was a conflict of interest. However, in this dark hour, it is time to let others know there is an alternative. It does not have to end here.

I would be honored for QWU members to join "Pattern Pastiche". If needed, we are more than happy to create a group for your new home.

hi all. I live in Washington and will be going to quilters anonymous on Saturday. I can't wait. went last year and it was so much fun to see all the beautiful quilts. I would love to join a local group but work and commute doesn't leave me any time to do so. I guess the computer will have to work for now.

I'm with ranchmom - I wish I had that same view Debbie.  Today, the sun was shining brightly, cleared all the fog and frost away.  I thought the grass is looking lovely and green - what is wrong with this picture?  Should be snow!!!

Merry Christmas everyone and safe traveling if you're doing that.  I guess I should be thankful for clear roads, huh?  ;-)

Oh, I would love to have some snow, we just have cold, fog and wind here in southeastern Oregon.

Merry Christmas everyone. Got to get ready to go to town with DH, looking to buy a new Swather.  Have a great day.

This is what I woke up to yesterday morning.  I now have 5" and my friend that lives just 3 miles across town didn't get a single flake.  I think I'm going to move across town!  lol

I knew there was a reason I live on the west side! So I don't get confused!!

Ina - Your group sounds fun and I bet there are some great things that people make for their gifts!

oh, yeah…..we're already IN the Northwest, huh?  That's what I get for being in the SE corner of the state….LOL

Yes Ina - that group sounds like lots of fun & wonderful support too.  I'm looking forward to February over President's Weekend, when I get to go to Rearden on a retreat with the Stashbashers.  :-)  They're ladies from all over the northwest corner of WA, mostly near Cheney & Spokane.

I live in Wamic/Pine Hollow, Oregon.  we have the best quilt group here.  We are a small community and have around 20 quilters.  Well last night we had our Christmas quilt meeting and exchanged gifts.  It was wonderful.  We only can give gifts that we have made.  The gift can be anything homemade.  It is so much fun to see what people give, such as home canned goods, knitted things or crocheted.  It was such a wonderful time.  Of course we only get together once a month to eat.  We get together every Monday and sew together.  It is great to be able to get out and talk to people.  Happy Holidays to everyone.
