Here's the quilt I've just finished.  I call it My Love For Thee.  The original quilt was called The Bird of Paradise and resides as a flimsy in the Folk Art Museum in NYC.  I drew the blocks from a photograph, then adapted the blocks from there.  I decided I wanted to try designing a border, so the border is done freehand again in the broderie perse style.  I was very fortunate to find a printed fabric from the Winterthur Sophia Pearce collection and then Jo Morton designed the perfect chintz for me to use for the birds.  Then I hand quilted the quilt.  This was a challenging project for me but I'm so glad I decided to try it.  I hope you enjoy it too.  I call it My Love For Thee from the vintage inscription: "My Love for thee, like roses, Blooms within my heart.  And like their lovely fragrance, Never will depart."
