About Me
I am happily married to a man who seems to understand my quilting addiction. I lead a very active life outside of quilting also including traveling with my husband when the wanderlust hits him. I recently purchased a long arm machine and am trying to learn how to use it in between trips!

I just want to hear what other quilters are doing. I have not gotten involved with any quilting groups locally because a) We travel a lot and I can not be a reliable member of a group and b) I am very self-conscious of my work and would be intimidated by all the more experience and much more talented quilters out there! Sorry, but that is how I feel about it! Everything I know about quilting I learned on my own.
I have read some of the long arm blogs and I am offended when I hear them bad mouthing some of the quilts they have quilted for other people. I could be that person they are bad mouthing or even someone I know. It doesn't matter if I know them or not--I know that I would be mortified if I knew someone was blasting my quilt. Whether it's perfect or not, I put a lot of heart and soul into whatever I make and my heart would be broken to hear it criticised in cyberspace. I guess that's why I do my work in relative obscurity. I admire people who put themselves "out there" for public scrutiny! No one has to see my work except the recipient of one of my quilts and hopefully they are not going to be too critical!

Hello fellow quilters!

Have you ever had one of those moments where you felt totally happy and content? I am moved to write this AM because I am having one of those moments now.

I sent my sweet husband off to the office, then I put a pork roast in the crock pot, gathered up all the trash for trash day, started the dishwasher, and then......down to my quilting room and total bliss!

I am sewing the borders on a quilt for my brother. I have the quilt laying out on the floor, right… Continue

I quilt BECAUSE I have six kids!!! As long as I have something in my hands...I cannot strangle them! :-) Of course having rabid ADHD doesn't hurt AND a good 9 months of the year it's either too hot or too cold here to go outside. Lots of indoor time=lots of quilts (and a vitamin D deficiency for which I am currently being treated)! Vampires get more sun than I do. LOL

Happy to have you as a friend. You said you made a miniature that is the size of notebook paper. I'd love to see a picture. This weekend I have 16 quilts in our quilt show and 3 antique quilts. It is already a busy weekend for me, setting up, making salads, etc. etc. but it will be fun.
Nothing like having quiet time to do nothing but quilt. Thanks to husbands who don't mind our addiction.

Thanks for the invite and yes I try very hard and spend a lot of time in my sewing space. I want to be able to finish up all the tops that I have put together so I have no more UFOs.
