I was cleaning up a box with some old magazines and guess what I ran across? The Nov 2007 Connecting Threads. What is really funny is that it was saved but I never even saw it until yesterday. When I got the 2008 one in the mail, that was my first time knowing about Connecting Threads, then to run across that yesterday, I was shocked. Needless to say there are some things I want from that catalog, lol. Is there anyway to still put your hands on some of those things? There are some nice patterns… Continue

My name is Ardythe and I do a little bit of it all, sew clothes, embroider, and quilt. I have several projects always on the brain and a few in progress as well. I have done more embroidery projects than quilting, but quilting is about to be my priority. Currently I'm making book covers and going to do handbags and accessories to match. I should really learn how to control myself. I start with one thing and that leads to other ideas that can complement what I'm doing, which leads… Continue

Ardythe, Did you buy the Baby Lock Jewel quilting machine? I have been researching quilting machines for about a year now - looked seriously at the Nolting and HQ16. I just had the Baby Lock Jewel demoed by our local Pfaff dealer yesterday, and it seems really nice and reasonably prices. He is local and repair would be done by him, that is a nice perk.

Ardith, I just realized that I have unfinished pics of taggies on my page. You can look closely at the unfinished ones and see exactly how I put them on!!!! DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sometimes it takes a moment for the light to come on!! LOL

Hi Ardith. I was confused when I wrote it. lol When you cut the 4 " ribbon strip just fold it in half with the right side facing you and the wrong sides touching each other in the fold. Just like in the picture. You can see from the pics of the taggies. Then just lay it down on the right side of your fabric, pin and then baste after you get them all pinned. Hope I made it clearer this time. Thanks, Linda

Lol, yes! yes! That's why I love to iron in the fall/winter!
Well...I'm weird..I have always found ironing to be relaxing/calming but that you can spread arms/hands out on top to soak the benefits is ditto for me!
Lol...I can just visualize you scurrying back to the ironing board to warm up...the last time I "had" a basement was during my childhood living in Saint Louis. Sure miss them! (Bet nice and cool in summer!)
