Just looked at all your pictures.  You are a talented lady.  I am a long time member of this site and find that it's the best site I have found for friendly people.  Where do you live? I'm on the East coast of Maine on the Canadian border.

Beverly - Thank you!  I've been so blessed by all the great friends I've made on QWU. I've been around pretty much since it started.  Just looked at your pictures and blog site.  I lived in Oklahoma for a few years when I was a toddler. We were first at Bacone College in Muskogee, then we lived in Talequah before returning to the Pacific Northwest.

Your quilts are great. I hope you do get to live out your dream retirement. Really awesome.  I look forward to seeing more of your pictures!

I see you like Teas too.  I'm getting ready to give a Tea on the 10th for the ladies near where I'm now living. They are such fun.

Beverly, I am just fine. The year is going very fast. I'm spending  a lot time helping my area return from "Sandy". And I get a little quilting done from time to time.

I hope you are well and quilting too.

Welcome Quilter Friend!

Just wanted to pop in to say “hello” and introduce myself. I’m Linda Hubalek, fellow quilter and author from Kansas. Books about pioneer women are my specialty, with a cooking or a quilting theme mixed into each historical fiction series.

My Trail of Thread historical fiction book series, written in the form of letters sent back home, describes my ancestors’ wagon trail journey and homesteading in Kansas. Each book mentions twelve old-time quilt patterns, and I put drawings of them in the back of the books.

So if you like to read—besides quilting—please enjoy my blog and book excerpts on my website. Besides printed as paperbacks, my ten books are also available for your Kindle or Nook. (Good choice for Christmas gifts, or yourself, because the ebooks are on sale now!)

I have about a dozen quilts made by my great grandmother, (that we used all the time when I was a kid) so I’m into antique quilts and patterns. What kind of quilts and patterns do you like to work with?

Happy quilting and reading!

Linda Hubalek

How many of my quilt friends have experienced this?   When making a run for the POTUS back in 1988 I believe/yr -- Jessie Jackson coined the phrase "KEEP HOPE ALIVE"  So I'm alive and well and yet posting, blogging and quilting in a wonderfully full life.. the mid to latter years of my life.   Journey on - my friends!
