My Son

All your prayers and good wishes have helped. My son is out of surgery! It took longer than what they thought so I have been on pins and needles all day. Now for a long recovery.
The week has ended on a high note after all. My grandson has recovered, and my son will too. Maybe now I can concentrate on quilting!

Would everyone have good thoughts today for my son as he undergoes his third spinal surgery for another bone spur. Our youngest son is there to support him and his wife.
Our grandson gave us a scare Monday night as we found out that her spent the night in ER for serious heat exhaustion. We've received word that his temp is down and he's rest comfortably. Now to wait for word on our son's condition.
Some weeks are very trying.

I have added a photo of a pillow that I made for my mother. The border is a handkerchief of my mother's and the photo is from the 1940's. Dad died in 1989 so mom enjoys this photo of them together. I enjoyed doing it for her.

Good morning!

Good morning from Florida. It's a beautiful day and the pollen count is even beginning to drop! Monday at 2am we had a thunderstorm! The wind blew and the rain pounded against our bedroom windows and the lightening flashed and the thunder boomed! We are in one piece but others in Florida weren't so lucky. We ended up with 3 inches of rain! What a night. Took a nap on Monday. Hope everyone else is well out there.

Thanks to you too, Carolyn! I will actually be in Austin on the 21st for my cousin's wedding. I love New Braunfels too, have been there for river rafting with friends. As far as quilts go, I do tend to go all out with colors. I would like to do a 2 color quilt someday. Right now I am working on 2 quilts, for my 2 sister-in-laws (they help take care of my parents who live close to them) One is going to be yellow and blue (hey, 2 colors!) and the other is going to be a "farm" theme. Her and my brother live on a farm a mile from my parent's place. thanks again!

Your quilts and wallhangings are wonderful! I hope the good spring weather is finally upon you. Quilting is surely a good cure for most ailments.
Take care.

The train quilt & label is great! It's amazing how many memories we quilt into our projects.

Waycross is pretty isolated--i go to St. Simons for the closest quilt shop, but mostly shop on line and from catalogs. Every once in a while, though, I just need a fabric fix--have to see it, touch it, smell it. My DH teases me about planning my trips around quilt shops and outlet malls, but what could be better?

Hi, Carolyn--thank you for the friend invitation. Don't know where you are in Florida, but we're almost in Florida ourselves. I was just down in Leesburg picking up my daughter from her Grandma's. I was amazed at the Villages--they have a Jo-Anns and a great quilt shop called Whippoorwill Station. Can't persuade my DH that this is a good enough reason to retire there--we're looking for somewhere at least a little cooler.
