Hi Chris - I'm wondering whether your Cathedral Windows are the "peeled-back patchwork" I learned in a class last spring? I have UFO of one of those called "Desert Flower". Now to remember the technique, since I'm determined to finish it.
Don't know whether I can send attachments to this site or not. If not, I'll let you know and send you an e-mail. Mine is . I am sending scanned copies of a couple of articles to my quilt group as a "Christmas present."
Having lived in Eureka, CA for nearly 40 years, I'm aware of the winter rain and summer fog.
Say hi to Max from KK.
Oh darn. I can' find a place to put an attachment. Am I bline?
Thank you for your comments on the Cathedral Windows, Your funny! comments are always welcome whenever! I've been out of the loop here off and on. I love the site, just no time. I've been quilting and actually getting things done! Have a wonderful, peaceful Holiday Season, and a Joyful New Year. Many blessing to you and your family! M~
Oh? Is there such a thing as a friendly Siamese? KK is a one person cat - my husband's. I sat up at night feeding her, babied her, let her nurse on my bathrobe for months, but when we moved from Hawai`i to Arkansas, she stayed behind for six months while I got our new home ready. Now I'm chopped liver. She gets ME up at six, insists I go to bed in the evening when she does, but Dan gets all the affection. It figures.
Your quilts are lovely, You must love doing cathedral windows. I like traditional too, but am narrowing down, not expanding, my quilting horizons. I have twenty UFOs, at least ten of which I can finish in 2011. The others are patterns for which I have the patterns and fabric but which I haven't started.
I hereby publicly proclaim that I will post these UFOs when completed. With pix.
OK, now I'm commityed. You and all of you - hold my feet to the fire!
We lived in Eureka, California for over 30 years and drove through Oregon many times.
Have you been to the Sisters quilt show?
Hi Chris, hope you are still around the forum here, lol. I did your Cathedral Windows tutorial, love it! Just need to work on the points a bit. Yours look nicer than my first try ones do. I did zigzag the othe seams, once I got the blocks all sewn together. Started & ended away from the edge on each, but may need to start a bit further away next time. i will post a pic when I get it done. Am adding some borders, so still playing with ideas for that, but I really like this design, &, your pattern! Thanks for sharing & putting the tutorial on the forum here! Love it!
Hi Chris, So glad to hear from you, yes life does get busy sometimes. I've been putting tops together, table runners, wall hangings, now instead of piles of fabric everywhere I have projects stacked up waiting to be quilted. I like to do small things.. but even lap quilts get to be to much under a domestic machine, especially if you want something more than "in the ditch". I put together a bunch of teabag wallets... that's a fun, quick thing to make, I'll have to put up some photo's of all this stuff, like you I enjoy photography, and the outdoors. The Northeast has had some great weather. I turn 50 this year and a friend of mine and I are planning a hike up a local mountain here, Mt. Monadnock, I think its in Temple or Dublin NH? but its not too far from Nashua where I'm at. She knows I don't have a bucket list, and she wants me to have a goal for such a milestone birthday as this one. LOL! Age is just a number... and I plan on enjoying every number I have left!!! Take care and God Bless.
