My husband and I have been married 49 years. We have 3 grown children and 4 grandchildren: one girl, three boys. All grandkids live in New York City. I am a retired teacher. I got into quilting because my retired hubby wanted me around him 24/7. He was driving me nuts and I had to have an excuse to get out of the house. After a few classes, I was hooked. I'm also learning how to smock. When I find time to read, it's almost always mysteries.

we had the most memorable holiday, australia was great seeing rellies in the city and others on the farm having a real aussie cook out, just wonderful. then onto singapore, penang and lankawie, watching the eagles perform, seeing all the wild life so close, quite different from here in uk, also the constant settled weather. we were totally spoilt, the service in hotels was incredible, david said he had forgotten how to open a door .. smile. now back to reality, and now over jet lag, and getting the gardn into shape again together with family duties, life and god is good.

hello cindy, we r still on holiday, just pickrd up your posting. i have not accessed the line 4 a while, hope younr well and enjoying you newly found hobby, i knoe what u mean getting your own space as well enjoying your retirement together . look forward to hearing from u soon.
Hi, Cindy! I can relate to the "retired husband therefore I quilt" syndrome! I tell people that my DH retired at the ripe old age of 53 (much too young!) and it was either take up quilting or end up in jail for man slaughter! Since he rarely gives me a hard time about my fabric addiction, I decided quilting was the better alternative! LOL I also have three kids, all boys, and am working my way to seven grandkids with my oldest son and his wife expecting twins in January. Have you taken a look at any other groups on here? There are some great gals on here and they're all willing to help you in any way they can. Their generosity is boundless. : )
Cindy, I would be happy to be your friend. I think we may have a bit of different things in common. I have had 3 grown children and I have 6 grandies but I have 6 great grandies that I got when our grandson married a girl that was widowed with kids. Thanks for the invite and drop by and visit anytime. Thanks!
