I've been a quilter for 20 years. I now own a Pfaff P3 longarm quilting machine. I've had it for over 3 years now and am pretty proficient. My tin Lizzie had to be repaired. I then sold it to a friend. I had purchased the Pfaff so needed to sell my TL. I miss her. She was such a sturdy machine. I am now fully retired. So I have been able to finish several projects. I have an embroidery machine, too. It's really fun to put embroidery and quilting together.
Now have 2 embroidery machines. Expensive hobby. But, such fun.

My pets are awesome!
We now only have a dog and a cat. My beloved tuxedo kitty passed away. I miss Jake every day. Our old do is gone now. We got Oscar, or present dog, after Brix passed away in 2015.
I retired 3 years ago--it took about 18 mos to figure out this whole retirement thing. The whole "what do I do with my life now???" was a big issue. My husband had retired a year earlier than I did, so he was used to it. Somehow, other activities started filling up my time, and this whole retirement thing has been working out great! Luckily, we planned this all out financially, so money isn't a problem which is a huge blessing. What are you retiring from?
I am interested in the group you mentioned, maybe it will help me advance my skills. Did you get the Shirley Stitcher with your machine?
No pictures of the kitties--unfortunately. I should really try and photograph them. They don't like each other much so getting them in a together shot is tough. Riley is a ragdoll cat, and Oliver is an adoptive-from-a-shelter cat.
I was looking at the sew and vac place I took my Lizzie to in Salem, and saw the newest Lizzie's. Very nice! Very loud though.. quite fancy. I got out my sales receipt and noticed I've only had my machine for a bit over two years, but the technician said mine is about 2 models older than this newest one. Man, they age fast!! I liked the new model of frame (mine is wooden), but was most impressed with the Handi Quilter 24". Super nice, but expensive, as they all are.
You have that new Bernina, huh? Pretty great present! I have a Babylock Ellisimo and use it all the time.
Thank you all for the good wishes. My new BD present with my husband's OK is a new Bernina 830LE sewing machine. It'll take a while to pay that one off. I have a quilt on my LA frame from QOV. So I can keep on practicing. I have gotten rusty since Aug. Have to think about what I'm doing. Working today. Can't play. darn!
