About Me
After working for Connecting Threads for 9 years I am enjoying having more free time. I love to sew (everything), paint (watercolors, acrylics, and oils) and sculpt (mostly santas). I'm still designing patterns and fabric but now I get to do it when I'm "in the mood". I also do a lot of the longarm quilting you see in the Connecting Threads catalog.
Hobbies and Interests
quilting, applique, paper piecing, machine quilting, embroidery, crazy quilting, general sewing
My pets are awesome!

Sooooo Glad It's Finished!

It seemed like this would never get finished. Even though I forgot one of the border strips and I accidentally smashed a bug on it I really like it now. Even though I gave Judy a bad time for picking this project for our group I'm glad I made it.

Not up for doing two-hundred and twenty-five Dear Jane 4" blocks? Then this group is for you! We will be using Jennifer Chiaverini's book, Sylvia's Bridal Sampler from Elm Creek Quilts to make ONLY (?) one-hundred and forty 6" blocks. The challenge is to have the quilt finished in one year. We will officially begin on June 15, 2009 and finish… Continue

Quilt Challenge

Now that I have Judy's quilt quilted I can jump into another "neverending" project - can't I? Just nod your heads in agreement. I fell in love with Sylvia's Bridal Sampler from Elm Creek Quilts and have talked a few of my co-workers (Mari, Judy, MaryJo, and a definite "maybe" from Karen) into doing it with me. Wouldn't you just love to join us as we try to make 140 DIFFERENT blocks? Again, just nod your heads in agreement. It really will be fun! I promise! I will be making my blocks from… Continue

I started a group ("On the Road Again Quilters") for people who like to take trips in their RV to add to their stash and who might also do a little piecing/quilting along the way. I have a tiny space now that might allow me to set up my sewing machine. I'm looking for ideas for a narrow folding table that can be put away when not in use. My husband thinks I'm a little nuts but I think it will be fun. I don't like just sitting around watching the campfire send smoke my way. Any ideas?

Hi Darlene! How are you doing? I hope you are finally getting all settled from your move. I know that's a big job....we just moved this last December.

Hey....I wanted to mention the issue with the birthdays on the main page. CT has become so large and there are so many birthdays that they all cannot possibly be posted on the main page in that small area. Is there some way to address this....say maybe by having a seperate page/tab just for the birthdays...or perhaps having those person's special day be posted on the group pages that they belong to...or even have some notification like we get when we have a friend on facebook? I am sure it's a big tech issue to face....but it seems necessary to make it fair to everybody. I like the birthday list and enjoy seeing where they are and what their quilt projects are that they have posted. I have met many nice friends that way. xoxox Thanks for all you do for us!

I am a member but haven't got into the posting of photos. I need to just do some practicing at the site.
I have a question....
On the Slacker group some of the blocks have "reduced" in the title. Could you tell me what reduced means?
ALSO, I would like to know anything about the chart that many members have used to display their blocks. I want to put my blocks into that media so I can see what to do with sashing.
I LOVE your site! It is my go to place daily so Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

I chose you to contact because we have an international student who just got a job in Seattle, WA and thought it would be interesting to chat with someone from that state. Can't tell you how surprised I was to discover you are one of my favorite designers and I have enjoyed making 4 quilts from your patterns and kits. I love sharing your patterns because they are so easy to follow. Thank you for sharing!
