About Me
I've been obsessed with quilting for about 6 years and machine embroidering for about 2 years and enjoy combining the two. I've been married for 31 years with one child who is in her 4th year of college. I'm a nurse who works weekends and one day of my choice during the week...which leaves me 4 days to indulge my obsessions.

Quilt Vacation

Posted on May 31, 2009 at 6:54pm 2 Comments

I'm back from a quilt vacation...not a vacation where quilting was involved, but a vacation from quilting. The yard started calling me to plant things and the house was yelling for it's spring cleaning. And I just needed some time away from my sewing machine. Now with my vegie plants growing and the house almost clean my creative juices are starting to flow again. I've resumed work on my Kaleidoscope quilt. I am just amazed at all the different looks I get with just one repeat of fabric. It's… Continue

Finished Yo-yo purse

Posted on April 21, 2009 at 6:37pm 6 Comments

I finally finished my Yo-Yo purse. Isn't it a great feeling to finish a project. I really don't have a pattern for the purse, but my advice to anyone wanting to make one is do a simple lined bag first and make and attach your yo-yo's together using the bag as a size quide. I made and attached my yo-yo's together then made the bag. I ended up doing a lot of mental work to get the bag the correct size. For the yo-yo's I used the Clover XL template. I made about 80 for this bag and it was a great… Continue

Posted on April 12, 2009 at 8:44pm 3 Comments

Hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter day and great weekend.

I finally finished the 66 yo-yo's for the purse that I am making. I plan to attach them tonight and go through my stash looking for a matching lining fabric. Or maybe I'll just go to the quilt shop tomorrow and find a matching fabric there...I am such a fabricoholic! Raise your hand if you are not. I made the yo-yo's with some fat quarters I had in my stash. I love the fabric. For me it's Springy and happy. I plan to… Continue

Check at your LQS - it's called "Stack & Whack" by Bethany Reynolds - or you can look at her site at http://www.quilt.com/BReynolds - I've not tried Marti Michel's method - I must look into it!

Will definantly put pictures up when they get a little further along. They are all some what simple but they have to be done in a timely manner so simple is good! Is that your store that there are pictures of by the way? and your pocket book is beautiful!
