This is my first blog post and I wanted to share an email that I received from a member of the Road To California's Quilt Show.  It is about the show's events, but it is the personal note that tugged at my heart.

A Personal Note

My sister just celebrated her 67th birthday, however due to a birth injury she is mentally retarded - about 6 - 8 yrs of age.  She lives in a “care home” and basically…

Diana, how are you? I haven't heard you writing on Love of art quilt. Are you still quilting. I hope the family is okay. Can't wait to see more of your quilts.

Diana, no worries about not responding to my question. In fact I had totally spaced it out as things have been a little on the hectic side around here with my hubby in the process of retiring and us looking for some place to live. Too many irons in the fire and just decided to do the projects with the gals on QWU. Take care.

Hi Diana - Just popped in to see how you are, we miss you on LOAQ. BJ and I have just posted something that we think you may be interested in - I know it is a subject close to your heart. Hope to see you over there and put in a comment on the new idea.

Hi Diana - meant to write a few times but....

spoke about you few times too ( and yes nicely) .....lol

how is everything at your end - here it is ok - the routine stuff - just came back from a month in Fl. nice -

though I would let you know - went to have my sewing machine serviced and saw three featherweight - at $100 with the box and.... and they had an A or H under in the serial number - I remembered that you were looking at them ,,,

and they were made here in this area at the time - that is why they are cheaper...

got to go - see you

Diana, quick question. Is the black & red quilt I made for my DD's wedding considered a 'traditional' quilt? Just curious as am thinking about the call for quilts for the book. Also, beings I used a pattern from a magazine would I need their permission to submit it to the book. I would tell where the pattern came from. I've not done anything like this before, so need to know what is acceptable. Thanks a bunch. cindy

HI!.....I am going to JoAnns this weekend and will take a look at the cotton yarns...They sell the "Sugar n Cream" brand of 100% cotton.  I have crocheted wash cloths and we use them all the time!  They are simply the best, in the kitchen and the bathroom.....LOVE THEM!  The ones shown on Pinterest are knitted, the site gives the patterns...I do know how to knit and pearl so shouldn't be a problem.....I'll let you know what colors I find!

My dear Diana, you truly are a "pearl of great prize." Your friendship, support, the way you reach out to others and offer comfort even when you are in pain yourself makes you a unique individual. There are so few ou there in the world like you and it's refreshing to see someone who possesses values that were instilled in me as a child.

Hope you had a fantastic turkey day and didn't "gobble gobble" too much. LOL. Wanka tanka kin chi un -- May God Bless!
