Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. I currently reside in Maryland. I enjoy doing applique, both by hand and machine. I like bright colors, batiks, tropical and Asian type fabrics. I participate in making charity quilts for preemies, children, and soldiers. I also enjoy photography and traveling.
No I don't think I will make anymore squares like the Hawaiian one, ops yes I made another one forgot. It was a class project as I wanted to know how they did the echo quilting. We were stationed in Ohao in the 60's during the Vietnam War and I worked for Army Intelligence at Ft Shafter. I made all my mumu's but was not quilting just then darn and all that material I could have bought!!!
Hi Estie! Your piecing is lovely so no worries about that! I think everything in any craft/hobby takes time and practice....and that's half the fun! As long as you are happy and enjoying it.......that is the purpose and what matters the most!
The challenge is out, lets see how many of us can join the wonderful new campaign called Stitching for Pink !!! Starts today until 30 October. Its gonna be so much fun with 10 projects to complete. Come on Embroiderers lets unite and join the fight against Breast Cancer !!!
Your quilts are very lovely also. I have so many to show because I have been very prolific the last ten years.............I feel I can better motivate my students if I show them a finished project before giving them directions on how to to it.
I have donated many quilts, or given them as gifts. However, someone made me an offer to buy in December, and I also sold two of them.
I am thinking about trying my hand at making queen size Hawaii quilt, after going to the fabric store here in Ga. nothing said Hawaii. Our master bedroom has beige and some blue. What colors speak to you of Honolulu since I have never been there.
