About Me
Love to quilt, but must admit feel more comfortable with "beginner" patterns. Have made several easy quilts and several kits. Just went on my first quilting weekend with friends, and had such fun. Worked on my own projects, but made a bowl that was taught, using clothesline and covering it with fabric. Really fun. Grandmother to 8 and very busy babysitting a lot!!!! So, when I can't get to my machine, I enjoy hand quilting pre-printed panels (cheaters) and make wall quilts or table toppers and EPP. Working on a quilt similar to Grnadmothers Flower Garden. Also joined a quilting group that meets once a week at our library, and that's a great way to share ideas and patterns.Look forward to hearing from all you quilters.

Have you seen this pattern?

Hi everyone - Has anyone ever seen a pattern for this really cute little boy's quilt I saw. Each sq. was about 11-12" solid color, and appliqued down in the center was a pair of "surfer board" shorts. They were all different. It was so darn cute. Would love to make for multiple GS'S.

The Duffy Bag

Posted on February 20, 2009 at 9:01am 2 Comments

Hi everyone, just finsihed a great tote bag that is huge (about 29 x 42 not counting the handles). It was designed by one of the members, Barb Duffy. It's just what I was looking for for carrying my cutting board, rulers, etc. to class. I've posted pictures of my version of the bag on my pictures. Sorry, but I didn't know if I could attach the photos right here. Anyway, I'm so excited and can't wait to show it off at my next class. Thanks again, Barb! Going out to lunch now with girlfriends.… Continue

Need help with Grandma's Garden

Hi everyone, Happy Daytona Race Day to those of us who love Nascar. I'm trying to get together a few hand quilting items to work on during the race today, and I came accross 2 Grandmother's Garden sections that I did. I must have had an idea in mind when I started them, but can't remember. they are done in St. Pat's fabric, so I'm now going to use them as part of a small table runner or wall hanging. My idea is to applique them on a background square and add sashing and borders. All simple… Continue

Hi Jane..Thanks for checking out the Pic. My DS's significant other's sister.(What a mouthful, huh?) Her sister is due in 3 weeks, and she's having a boy. DSO was thrilled, and sat here this afternoon and"Right over Lefted" Until it was all tied and trimmed. She did a good job...and learned how to tie. Anne

Hi Jane - Sorry I haven't responded to your email sooner. Bummer they are out of the Boxer Mania pattern. I didn't think about it before, but I could send you a copy if you want, I don't mind. Just let me know and we can exchange private email addresses to get each other's snail mail address. Happy Quilting! Gina

They are all machine pieced and will be machine quilted when done and assembled. There are going to be 140 of them when done. They are all 6 1/2".

The blocks are for a Sylvia's Bridal Sampler Quilt. I chose to use all 30's fabrics for my quilt. Thank you for your compliments.

Hi Jane, I bet that convention was a blast! The quilt show was fun, it really wore me out. My sister had a great time, too, and she found lots of stuff to buy. There weren't many new gadgets, but they did have some new civil war fabric. By the time I found it, I was about out of money. I got some Halloween fat quarters, I love Halloween fabrics. Also a few Civil war fabrics.
Hoppy quilting!

So, Jane, just make a "big" basket!! or even a purse!! It could be that the instructor will have you cover less rope with each strip!! I thought I had a photo of the big bag I made in my album but I don't - have fun with your class!

You are right about the time this surfing takes. I sit down for just a "few minutes" and an hour and a half go by before I know it. Have fun surfing.
Love and Hugs, Dee
