- Hi! I'm excited to be a part of Connecting Threads community where I can learn all kinds of stuff. I'm a confident beginner quilter, but I love a good challenge. I grew up in the heart of Minneapolis, MN where I spent a lot of time enjoying the lakes. Now, I'm in LOVE with the NW, where I've called it my home since 2002.
Besides playing with my daughter, in my spare time, I like to hike and casually bike, as well as do anything artsy like painting, photography and making crafts. Oh yes, I also love fabric prints, especially modern, bold or bright colors.
I'm also mom to two precious little girls, Hannah (b April, 2013) and Ella (b January 2010).

I get lovely daily emails from one of my favorite design/DIY places: Design*Sponge, and I was delighted to find a really cute picture tutorial on various embroidery stitches, all sampled together within an embroidery hoop. This project is so cute! I would love to make this; it would be good practice for me.

So this isn't exactly quilting, but it's crafty. I've been making frames as gifts for many years, and I just started taking photos of them. This frame is for my husband's cousin's daughter, baby Georgia, born just 10 days ago. Her nursery is hot pink with green and orange accents, so I thought the flower stickers and jewels (hello bling! they live in Hollywood) would go nicely with a hot pink spray painted wooden frame I purchased at a crafts store.

We just came back from Washington / Oregon. We were in Vancouver , Wa for a wedding a couple of weeks ago.
Is Connecting Threads located in Vancouver, WA ?. Hmmmm I wish that I had known that. But I did take in plenty of shops out there.
