About Me
I have lived in Utah for 131/2 years, the longest I have lived anywhere on one stretch. I began quilting about 11 years ago and gave my first pieced and hand-quilted quilt to my step-daughter for a wedding present.
Last year my husband and I took a leap of faith and bought a long-arm quilting machine. Boy, talk about falling in love. It is so wonderful. Of course, I don't have a lot of time to quilt for myself because I am kept busy with other peoples quilts.
Hobbies and Interests
quilting, hand quilting, embroidery, general sewing
My pets are awesome!
A black and white cat named Cat

Fall

Well, it is definetely turning fall here. We, my husband and I, have been busy finishing up the garden and canning. So far, about 400 bottles in the basement. But now my thoughts are turning to another quilt. This one I'm thinking will surely be a Christmas quilt, Tesellating stars. I can almost see it forming in my mind. I just have to decide what the background color will be.

I have always had a love for fibers. The textures and the colors always intrigue me. I love picking out new fabrics for a quilt even though I have plenty af fabric at home. Nothing makes me feel quit…

I have always had a love for fibers. The textures and the colors always intrigue me. I love picking out new fabrics for a quilt even though I have plenty af fabric at home. Nothing makes me feel quite so happy as finding the "perfect" filler.

I was born Christmas eve and am drawn to santas, snowmen and angels. But that is not what a lot of my quilting is with. Living in the southwest, I tend to lean toward horses and wildlife, and the beautiful colors of the mountains.

My first quilt… Continue

I'm with you on the size. A lapquilt would be a wonderful beginning for us. The sooner the better, too. But I am thinking about us keeping them or whatever. So lets get started! Love you, Joan

Sooner the better. If we wait too long all the seasonal fabrics and pretty colors will be too hard to find. Twin sounds good, or maybe a wall hanging/lap quilt size. That way I would have a way to exhibit it for the season. I don't have any place to put a twin quilt unless you are thinking of us selling them. Let me know. Grace

What a great idea. How big of a quilt should we strive to complete? Grace

Fall colors - imagine lots of beautiful rich batiks. Each star done differently. Hey wait a second. Maybe that should be my next quilt top!! Gracie

Christmas fabrics like pretty deep greens and reds or, if you have time to get it done quickly, it would be beautiful with fall fabrics since it kind of reminds me of fallen leaves. It would be really cute done for a baby quilt too. I really like the pattern. Love ya, Grace
