I have been quilting for about 20 years now. My husband and I have been married for 27 years, he is very understanding and supportive of my quilting addiction! We have three kids, two girls and one boy, all adults, leaving me with more time to quilt. Although work does get in the way....
When not quilting I love to go hiking in the White Mountains.
The challenge is out, lets see how many of us can join the wonderful new campaign called Stitching for Pink !!! Starts today until 30 October. Its gonna be so much fun with 10 projects to complete. Come on Embroiderers lets unite and join the fight against Breast Cancer !!!
Hi, Karen! I just came across your name on the "Love of Art Quilts" page. You've got some really stunning work under your belt! I occasionally get to NH. My brother-in-law just retired from his Dr.'s practice in Epping and he and his wife live just outside of Raymond. NH is beautiful country to be inspired in!
I enjoyed seeing your butterflies. They reminded me of a book I bought years ago on stumpwork, a sort of three dimensional embroidery. I'm going to have to spend more time looking at your work if I want to stay inspired! I seem to have more "for them" projects started right now than "for me" things. I'd forgotten the joy of working with still life arrangements (I used to do them in pastels, along with portraits). Have you seen any of the work done by Susan Carlson? Your bass reminded me of her fish. : )
Your quilts are fabulous. You are truly an artist. Hard to choose what I like the best. Would you tell me more about how you did the water at the base of your waterfall? I think I know, but would like to hear from you. Glad you joined the Art Quilts group. I know there is much we can learn from you.
Good morning Karen,
Glad you liked my photos. I plan to make an art quilt like that for my new project, as I have one art quilt in the making.
We would love to have you join our group "Love of Art Quilts", just know you would add so much to the group.
Have a great day.
I will be there from Thursday through Saturday night - leaving for home on Sunday - I don't know what the show hours are either - I have classes TH -4-6, FR 4-6, Sat 10-12 & 4-6 - yes it would be nice to meet - as the time draws nearer, perhaps we can develop a plan -
