I want to thank all of you for your wonderful comments on my quilts. You all really know how to make a person feel great. I did want to answer a question about the wall hanging with the photo of 2 girls on it. The girls are my younger sister and myself many (too many) years ago. I did the Sepia tone in my computer software, then printed it on fabric sheets called Printed Treasures, which you can buy at most fabric shops, then appliqued it to the main fabric. I used a decorative stitch on my… Continue

Linda, thank you so much for the lovely comments on my quilt. It is an original that I came up with for a competition. I hope to soon have the rights back so I can sell it. It is really easy, fast and has almost no waste. It was really fun to make

Hi, Linda!

I've been admiring your gorgeous quilts (again! lol) and have been meaning to ask what kind of machine you use for your embroidery. I've got a Bernina that is about 3 or 4 yrs old and I've never taken the embroidery module out of the box (embarrassing to admit!). This was the year I was going to brave it, but I've ended up with other projects on my plate. I also wanted to know just how you incorprated the designs into your quilts. (You have one with a leaf design that just takes my breath away!) Do you embroider first and then piece? I guess that would make more sense than putting something big and bulky on your machine. Your work is my biggest incentive for finally taking that module out of the packing case! : )

Hi Linda,

My sewing room currently is probably smaller than yours...due to basement foundation work, I have a corner of our office to sew in.  Oh well, once it gets fixed, it  will be great again.

Thanks for the compliment on my sister's quilt.  It took a loooooonnng time.  I started it early last summer but then put it away after only 3 of the circle blocks; which, in effect, are 4 blocks of 4 - 5" blocks.  I was making quilts for all my ten grandchildren so had to get that done for Christmas.  I went back to it in January and worked almost non-stop to get it done.  My house is a disaster; I wouldn't take time to clean only to sew.  And I hsve just mailed it last week.  I counted the pieces; there were 9120 pieces, all only 1.5" wide.  I don't know why I take on these things!!!!

Your quilts are very beautiful. I stay with crazy quilts mostly because I'm not so good at hand sewing or matching seams.  Thank you for your comment on my qrazy quilt with tan borders....Judy Arbuckle
