I accidentally found online a fabric I'd given up on ever finding. Yeah!

Posted on November 14, 2011 at 2:04pm 7 Comments

I'm so excited!  I bought a fat quarter bundle of fabric 2-3 years ago, and when I decided how to use it in the quilt, I realized I'd need extra of one fabric to make up the sashing.  Unfortunately, the none of the fat quarters listed the manufacturer on the selvedge.  I looked everywhere--the store's website, ebay, google etc.--without sucess and finally gave up.  I ended up buying an alternate fabric to do the job.  Yesterday, I was browsing online at Amazon's fabric selection (I didn't…

Review of My New "Accuquilt Go!"

Posted on September 20, 2011 at 11:06am 3 Comments

In my last post, I asked for opinions about Accuquilt, and appreciated all your input.  I went ahead and bought the Accuquilt Go! on eBay.  (You can really save money on eBay, if you don't mind waiting a few days for the delivery.)  Anyway, I'm thrilled with my new toy.

I cut 2-1/2 quilts in 3 hours with my new Accuquilt.  The first quilt I cut was from a Walmart fabric bundle -- I didn't want to ruin more expensive fabric learning how to use the machine.  The fabric itself…

Any Opinions on AccuQuilt Die Cutting System?

Posted on August 23, 2011 at 11:03am 7 Comments

All of a sudden, I think the AccuQuilt is the next "must have" quilting tool for me.  But is it?  I'm always on a quest to achieve ever-more-perfect triangle piecing.  I think having the dogears pre-cut off with complete precision would be such a timesaver.  At first, I thought the cost of the dies was prohibitive, but they could be combined to make any number of blocks.  Does anyone here own an AccuQuilt, and do you think it's worth the investment?

Made another fun purchase...

I couldn't resist Birchtree Lane any longer.  So I bought a couple of the 10" square sets of that collection, and also some clearance fabrics and a quilt book, also on sale.  I often wait until a collection goes on sale to buy whatever's left for the backing.  (I'm such a sucker for sales.)  So, in a few days, these will arrive at my desk at work, and a coffee break will be immediately called for.

What Happened to the "My Favorites" Area . . .

Posted on June 1, 2011 at 12:12pm 7 Comments

Hi, I had saved almost 200 QWU quilt photos under "My Favorites" (before I eventually discovered that it only held 100 photos and my earliest additions were dropping off the back end--not a happy camper).  Now, I see my entire "favorites" library seems to have disappeared (or maybe I just forgot where it is).  Did this function go away?  It's not that big of a deal to me anymore, ever since I realized I'd hit the 100 limit, I stopped saving.  What happens when you "like" a photo, does QWU track… Continue

Thank you, Lindsey Ray, for your compliment on my Borderline Quilters Guild BOM.  I took it to the guild meeting and Christmas party and I received 1st prize!  I was so delighted.

I really love your Pickle Dish quilt and your Crumb table topper.  I see that you have an AccuQuilt Die cutting system.  I saw a demo of it.  I like the die that makes the raggy quilt block.  I could turn them out fast with that!

Thanks Lindsey for your comment on my quilt top "Colored Ribbons."  One of these days I am hoping to get some black batting purchased and then get it pin basted and quilted.

Lindsey, I live in Colorado. You might have gotten me mixed up with someone else. But it has been great fun to see your work. Isn't it great to talk to other people who love quilting as much as you do? I just love it.

Hi Lindsey: I am so glad to make a new quilting friend. I hear what you are saying, to many things to do and not enought time to do them. I have been sooo busy with children and grand-children, that I have not had the time to quilt for the last year. I am hoping to get something going before another year is over. Have a great day, and happy quilting, your new friend, Nancy

Hi Lindsay I saw your comment about selling your quilts. I thought the same as you until one day I quoted a price and they said yes without batting an eyelash. I made a king size broken star quilt/machine pieced/hand quilted. I quoted her 2500.00 I fiqure if they don't want to pay it then I am not missing out. It is still mine to enjoy they lose out cause they didn't buy a one of a kind..LOL
