About Me
I've been sewing since I was three, (My Grandmother (Nana) had lots of patience), retired from Human Research Ethics, have a family and have taught children and adult sewing and quilting classes in my spare time. I'm in the process of doing a Grandmothers flower garden quilt and I have 100 flowers done and now working on putting it all together. Of course, like all quilters I do have one or two more projects on the go. I do a lot of charity work and hold a few positions in some quilt guilds and associations. One day I may really retire from everything for a while and get caught up on some of my own quilts, but right now I'm having a lot of fun doing all these other things. My friend Judi says I should slow down, but she needn't worry it will happen.

We have two wonderful grand children - a boy and a girl, we couldn't be happier. For this we are sincerely blessed.

We have a beautiful cabin we go to in the summer on one of the smaller Gulf Islands, no power, no vehicles, just nature. However, I can't leave my sewing at home so a treadle sewing machine was a must and I do a lot of hand sewing while I sit on the beach or on the cabin porch. It is a wonderful thing to sit and sew and watch all the boats going by, some sailing and some are moving much faster. Then we see an eagle fly overhead, or a blue heron land on the shore to do a bit of fishing. My treadle machine sits right in front of the picture window and I get to watch the sun go down every night and see some of the most beautiful colours of the sunsets.

What a great life! We are very fortunate.
Hobbies and Interests
quilting, applique, paper piecing, hand quilting, machine quilting, embroidery, crazy quilting, general sewing, knitting
My pets are awesome!

Marilyn, I read your post about a "war of 1812 quilt traveling around. Will you post a photo when you can? I'm interested in that history and would love to see it.

I know you are have been a bit "under the weather" in more ways than one :). I hope you and the family are doing better and that the weather in beautiful BC is improving. Take care.

My best wishes for your new grandchild. That's exciting...but you and the Mom and Dad do not need drama. Those medical folks will get their act together when they need to but sometimes they just don't seem like it.

My apologies Marilyn ... just now got your message ... I'm not too familiar with the workings of the web site -- just read the messages and seldom write.  I've been quilting for about twenty years ... a wonderful starter but a very s-l-o-w finisher and not too many pictures of what I've finished.  I vowed to make a quilt for each of our eight grandchildren and am finishing up #6 just now.  Machine quilted it on a longarm quilter ... and am quite happy with the result.  Now for the binding and on to #7 and #8.  Then perhaps I'll do things for myself guilt-free instead of feeling I should be working on grandchildren quilts instead of what I'm doing!  Nice chatting at you and again, my apologies for being so long in responding!

Mommy Fuller!

Me and the family are coming back this weekend for a few days.

Mind if my wife stops by and drools over your fancy machines?
